BTech in Artificial Intelligence: New course launched at IIT Gandhinagar, know all about it here
BTech in Artificial Intelligence is the new course being started at IIT Gandhinagar from the academic year 2023-24. It is envisioned that this program will serve as a foundation for graduates to address the important challenges facing humanity.
Students who are interested in studying BTech in Artificial Intelligence can aim for admission to this program. It is also worth remembering that IIT Gandhinagar will be starting BTech-MTech Dual Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Some of the discipline-specific core courses are Data Structures & Algorithms, Digital Systems, Foundations of AI and others.

Prof Rajat Moona, Director, IIT Gandhinagar, said, the institute is rapidly expanding its intellectual capital, research and educational facilities and physical infrastructure.
The undergraduate curriculum was revised this year to adapt to rapidly-evolving technology. With the introduction of BTech in Artificial Intelligence, they will enable students to build systems that harness data collection and computation to solve important global challenges.
Apart from statistical and computational techniques, this program emphasizes responsible use of AI and developing of interdisciplinary domain knowledge, said Prof Rajat Moona.

The Institute has also recently inaugurated ‘Gordhanbhai B Gelot Laboratory for Artificial Intelligence and Data Science’ to foster a diverse and collaborative ecosystem in the fields of data sciences, machine learning, artificial intelligence and applied mathematics, said the IIT Gandhinagar director.
Who can apply?
Students who have passed plus two from a recognized educational institution with maths, physics and chemistry as subjects can apply for BTech in Artificial Intelligence.
The students have to pass JEE Mains with a rank that comes in the top 2.5 lakhs on a national level. Students have to pass JEE Advanced with the required qualifying marks.
Candidates who have passed JEE Advanced with the required qualifying marks will have to apply for JoSAA counselling where they can choose to study BTech in Artificial Intelligence at IIT Gandhinagar.
The selection criteria will be based on scores in JEE Advanced. Students who get a seat in BTech in Artificial Intelligence can convey their acceptance and pay the fees and join the course.
Nearly 40 percent of its undergraduate students receive study abroad or other international opportunities. Its 5-week immersive Foundation Program for incoming students underscores creativity, leadership, communication skills, ethics, social awareness, and physical activity.
