AICTE 2020, is all about the activities taken up by All India Council of Technical Education during the moment of present crisis. Corona virus is rocking the entire nation, lock down has been implemented across the country to regulate the disease.
The first measure as part of AICTE 2020 is the launch of a portal that offers free online courses for students and professionals. The portal named ELIS was launched by AICTE chairman Anil Sahasrabudhe in the presence of MP Poonia, AICTE vice chairman and AICTE member secretary Rajiv Kumar.
As corona virus has brought things to a standstill, students and professionals can take help of technology to learn the lessons unhindered.
The other good aspect of the first measure under AICTE 2020 is that several companies have come forward to provide online courses free of cost till 15 May.
The main point is that AICTE is said to have designed this portal with a motive of providing knowledge on a single platform. The greatness of the first measure of AICTE 2020 is not that alone.
The contents available on the portal are sourced from 18 leading Ed-tech companies with 26 different courses. During a normal situation, learning these courses is said to cost anyway between Rs 5,000 to Rs 20,000.
All the companies that are taking part on the portal have come forward to enroll students in the present lockdown period without any cost till 15 May.

No fees please
The second measure as a part of AICTE 2020 has brought much needed relief for students. AICTE is said to have instructed the educational institutions providing courses related to engineering, management, architecture and pharmacy not to compel students to pay fees during the lock down.
AICTE is said to have issued a letter based on instruction received from Ministry of Human Resource Development.
The letter has stated that students can’t be compelled to pay fees, it also has instructions saying that educational institutions must pay salaries to teachers and not to remove them form jobs.
Educational institutions have been asked to provide this information on their websites and notice board. The second measure as a part of AICTE 2020 is a welcome step particularly when crisis has hit this country in form of corona virus.
Affairs have come to a standstill during the lock down to beat COVID-19, considering that this would have an impact on the earnings of the individuals, paying fees may not be an option for many.
The second measure as a part of AICTE 2020 will definitely bring relief to many and is much needed during the current troubled times.
