ACET May 2020: Great, Apln submission date extended
ACET May 2020, the last date for submitting the application for the exam has been extended till 29 May from its earlier planned 11 April.
Sources further say, even ACET May 2020 exam has also been postponed to 27 June from its earlier planned 9 May. Taking advantage of this many more people will be able to apply for the exam.
ACET is entrance an exam for those who wish to join Institute of Actuaries of India (IAI) as student members and intend to take up various actuarial examinations held by IAI.
If an individual is already a member of IAI then he or she need not take the entrance exam, however they can continue to appear for the various actuarial examinations. ACET is an exam that is held twice in a year.
Important dates
The important dates with regards to ACET May 2020 are the registration start date and close date. The start date for ACET May 2020 exam registration is 13 March, close date for exam registration is now 29 May.
ACET May 2020 exam will now be conducted on 27 June from 11 am to 1 pm. The results will be announced on 8 July. Last date for student membership admission (if the student wants to appear for September 2020 examination) is 20 July.
Eligibility
Applicants willing to apply for ACET May 2020 must be a pass in plus-two and one of the subjects should be english.
How to apply
Candidates who wish to apply for ACET May 2020 must do it online. They can visit the official website of IAI at ‘http://www.actuariesindia.org/ACET%20module/Acet_login.aspx‘ and register themselves and obtain a username and password.
After obtaining them, applicants can start applying for the exam. Candidates have to upload their photograph as per the mentioned specification. The photo to be uploaded for ACET May 2020 exam must be of 4.5 cm length x 3.5 cm width.
Candidates can select the examination centre also. After all the details are provided submission must be done. After successful submission students will receive a welcome kit of one sample question paper and indicative solution from their login download tab. Candidates must also pay the required application fee while registering for ACET May 2020.

Application fee
The registration fee for ACET May 2020 is Rs 3000, this covers the cost of one sample question paper, indicative solution and online exam.
The registration fee once paid is neither refundable nor can it be carried forward for the next ACET. So applicants for ACET May 2020 are therefore requested to make considered decision to take up the examination and only then register.
Exam patter
The ACET May 2020 exam will have questions related to mathematics, statistics, data interpretation, english and logical reasoning for 100 marks. The number of questions are 75. Candidates must get atleast 50% marks to qualify.
The question spread is Mathematics – 30 marks, Statistics – 30 marks, Data Interpretation – 15 marks,
English – 15 marks and Logical Reasoning – 10 marks.

Meaning-Usage Match, Summary Questions, Verbal Reasoning, Facts/Inferences/Judgements, Reading Comprehension.
Vocabulary questions test the candidate’s knowledge of the primary meanings of words, secondary shades of meaning, usage, idioms and phrases, antonyms, related words.
Grammar-based questions test the candidate’s ability to spot and correct grammatical errors. It should generally tests knowledge of high school level grammar and includes areas like subject-verb agreement, use of modifiers, parellel construction, redundancy, phrasal verbs, use of articles, prepositions, etc.
Verbal reasoning questions are designed to test the candidate’s ability to identify relationships or patterns within groups of words or sentences.
Data Interpretation
Tables, Column Graphs, Bar Graphs, Line Charts, Pie Chart, Venn Diagrams and Caselets. Data is given in form of tables, charts and graphs in this section and candidate’s ability of interpreting the given data and answering the questions based on it is tested.
Logical Reasoning
Number and Letter Series, Calendars, Clocks, Cubes, Venn Diagrams, Binary Logic, Seating Arrangement, Logical Sequence, Logical Matching, Logical Connectives, Syllogism and Blood Relations.
