The most important happening in the academic world is the commencement of JEE Mains April registration.
Sources keeping track of developments related to academic world of India say, the registration for JEE Mains April can be done till 11:50 pm of April 4.
Sources familiar with the academic world say, the registration commenced from 25 April.
Applicants have to visit the official website of the exam at ‘https://jeemain.nta.nic.in/webinfo2021/Page/Page?PageId=1&LangId=P’
And scroll down the page and click the button ‘JEE (Main) 2021: New Registration and Registration Form Correction’
After the button is clicked and when new page opens, applicants can register and obtain username and password.
Candidates can login using the username and password and start applying for JEE Mains April exam.
While candidates who are already registered can visit the website ‘https://testservices.nic.in/examSys21/root/Home.aspx?enc=Ei4cajBkK1gZSfgr53ImFVj34FesvYg1WX45sPjGXBoodsCAPgItCPvwv6bGBGio’ and login and start applying for the April edition of the test.
The test will take place on 27,28,29 and 30 April. The last date to pay fee is 11:50 pm of 5 April.
Also, candidates who applied earlier for April/May session can modify their particulars (Session, Category, Subject, etc.) from 25 March to 4 April 2021.
Due to limited time, there will be no correction window available after the application form closes on 4 April 2021 (11:50 pm).

2. GATE scorecard

Another worth mentioning development in the academic world is the release of GATE 2021 scorecard.
IIT Bombay which conducted the exam also released the scorecard.
Candidates who have qualified GATE 2021 can visit the official website of the exam ‘gate.iitb.ac.in’ to download the marksheet which is valid for three years from the date of issuance.
The candidates can visit the officail website of GATE 2021 at ‘https://gate.iitb.ac.in/’ and scroll down the page after it downloads and click the button ‘GATE Scorecard is available for eligible candidates’
After the button is clicked and when new webpage downloads, the candidates have to enter their enrollment id or email address and password and submit them for obtaining the scorecard.
Academic world experts remind the release of GATE 2021 exam result on March 19. A total of 38 students have topped GATE this year.

IISC conducted JAM 2021 exam to provide admission into post graduate courses in IISC and IITs.
Sources well acquainted with the academic world say, the scorecard of the exam is likely to be released on 27 March and would be accessible till July 31.
Candidates who attended the exam can download the scorecard on the official website ‘jam.iisc.ac.in’
Soon after the webpage dowloads, applicants who are in the meritlist can scroll down the page and click the button ‘JAM 2021 Results are announced. Scorecards can be downloaded by the candidates in the merit list’
After clicking the above button and when a new webpage downloads, applicants have to enter their enrollment id or email id and password and submit them to obtain marksheet.
Post downloading the marksheet, candidates can take a printout and use it for the next stage of admission, say experts from the academic world.
4. Haryana Board exam dates
Academic world is always brimming with activity in some part of India. Haryana is now gathering up to conduct exams for classes 10 and 12.
Academic world experts say, Board of School Education of Haryana has released the dates of the exam.
Sources from the academic world point out the 12th exams in Haryana will start from April 20 and class 10 exams will commence two days later.
Academic world experts further say the practical exams for both the classes will be conducted 5 to 10 April.
Parents and students can access the datesheet for the exams on ‘bseh.org.in’
Sources familiar with academic world of India say the exams will be conducted taking lot of precautions due to COVID-19 situation.
The happy news was that girl students happened to be the toppers in all streams.
Academic world experts pointing the flipside said the overall pass percentage had come down.
Academic world sources say, the overall pass percentage in intermediate exams this year was 78.04 and which was a bit low when compared 80.44 of the previous year.
Sonali Kumari was the topper in the science stream and topper in arts stream was Kailash Kumar, the other topper in the same stream was Madhu Bharti.
As far as commerce stream was concerned, Sunanda Kumari got the top position.
6. CLAT 2021 exam date
The legal academic world also had a worth watching development which is also a happy news of sort for students aspiring to study law.
The sources active in legal education unit of the academic world say CLAT 2021 registration date has been exteded till April 30.
CLAT 2021 is a test conducted by Consortium of National Law Universities (CNLU) to provide admission into undergraduate and post graduate law courses in its member universities.
As per the extension, candidates willing to apply for CLAT 2021 can visit the official website of CNLU at ‘consortiumofnlus.ac.in’ on or before April 30.
Academic world sources say the earlier decided last date was March 31.
7. Change in leadership
IIM Calcutta also made into the limelight as far as academic world is concerned when its director Professor Anju Seth stepped down.
Professor Anju is said to be the first woman director of the institute.
While academic world experts say, Professor Subir Bhattacharya took over as the acting director of IIM Calcutta, the differences between her and the board are said to be reason behind the resignation of Professor Anju Seth.
This found a mention in the resignation letter of Professor Anju.
Many wrongdoings were blamed on her without any evidence and opportunity to defend her actions was also denied, she wrote in the letter.
However, IIM Calcutta in a notification said it was regretted that at the time of leaving Professor Anju Seth has made baseless and self-serving assertions against the Institute and the Board.
IIM Calcutta will continue to be run in the best traditions of good governance and transparency.
The Board looks forward to working closely with the Ministry of Education, Faculty members, the staff, students, the alumni community and other stakeholders and friends of IIM Calcutta to take the Institute to greater heights, it said in the notification.
8. Weexpoindia Lead’21

The two day event had seen participation of lot of important people from all walks of life. Education world experts say over 1225 delegates took part in the show.

The sources familiar with academic world said the board exams in Uttar Pradesh were supposed to begin on April 24.
The exams are likely to be conducted on another dates so that they donot come in clash the with Panchayat elections.
Academic world sources said the class 10 exams were supposed to be over by May 10 and class 12 exams are to be completed by May 12 as per the earlier decided schedule.
10. CA intermediate results
Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) became a subject of attention in the academic world when it released CA intermediate exam results on 27 March.
The sources from academic world in India said the exams were conducted in January this year.
Avilash Gaurav of Guwahati stood the topper with a score of 63.86 percent (447 marks out of 700) in the old CA intermediate exam.
The results are available on the official website of the exam at ‘icaiexam.icai.org’
