ABIC of IIT Kharagpur invites applications for great programme
ABIC of IIT Kharagpur is inviting applications from the eligible candidates for taking part in online training programme on agri and food tech based entrepreneurship.
ABIC is also known as Agri Business Incubation Centre and is based at IIT Kharagpur.
Those who participate in this course will get to lot of relevant issues in connection with farming from experts at IIT Kharagpur.
The topics to be taught during the training programme organised by ABIC at IIT Kharagpur are bio-fuels and biogas for rural electrification, importance of soil testing for crop production.
Also among the topics to be taught by IIT Kharagpur experts are organic farming and vermicomposting, farm implements and equipment operation, micro-irrigation and protected cultivation.
The other topics to be taught by IIT Kharagpur experts are small scale processing of fruits and vegetables, bakery, confectionary and ready-to-eat foods.
As said earlier, the training programme will be organised from 7 to 17 December by ABIC of IIT Kharagpur and the timings for the programme during these days are 4 to 6 pm from Monday to Saturday.
The schedule
The inauguration of the programme by ABIC of IIT Kharagpur will be held on 7 December from 3:30 to 4:00 pm.
Post inauguration, Professor R. Banerjee will be teaching biofuels and biogas for rural electrification.
Professor S. Chakraborty will be teaching importance of soil testing for the crop production on 8 December.
Professor D.K. Swain will be handling organic farming and vermicomposting on 9 and 10 December during the training programme by ABIC of IIT Kharagpur.
Professor R. Machavaram will teach farm implements and equipment operation on 11 and 12 December during this training programme by ABIC at IIT Kharagpur.
Micro-irrigation and protected cultivation will be the topic taught during this training programme by ABIC at IIT Kharagpur on 14 and 15 December by Professor K.N. Tiwari.
Professor P.P. Srivastav will be teaching small scale processing of fruits and vegetables on 16 December at this programme by ABIC of IIT Kharagpur.
Professor H.N. Mishra will be teaching bakery, confectionary and read-to-eat foods on 17 December.
The valedictory of this training programme being organised by ABIC of IIT Kharagpur will be conducted from 6:15 pm to 7:00 pm.
The form comprises details like name of the applicant, their email id, their affiliation, address for communication and their WhatsApp number and then submit it.
The above said form has to be submitted before 10 pm of 5 December.
Post registration
Candidates who have registered for this programme by ABIC of IIT Kharagpur will be shortlisted.
The names of candidates shortlisted for this programme by ABIC of IIT Kharagpur will be announced on 6 December.
The online link for participation in this programme by ABIC of IIT Kharapur will be shared with all those shortlisted candidates on 6 December.

ABIC of IIT Kharagpur is an innovation and agripreneurship cell for supporting agribusiness incubation by exploring technological innovations for venture creation in agriculture and allied fields.
It is aimed at strengthening start-up ecosystem in Agri-food and allied sectors to promote agripreneurship by facilitating access to technology, domain experts and grant-in-aid for product and process innovation.
This was established in May 1950 in Hijli, Kharagpur, in the eastern part of India. Initially the IIT started functioning from 5, Esplanade East, Calcutta and very soon shifted to Hijli in Sept. 1950.
The present name ‘Indian Institute of Technology’ was adopted before the formal inauguration of the Institute on August 18, 1951, by Maulana Abul Kalam Azad.
