About Indian Agricultural Research Institute - [IARI], New Delhi
Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), popularly known as Pusa Institute, established in 1905, is India's premier national institute for agricultural research, education, and extension. Ranked 24th overall in NIRF 2025, IARI is located in New Delhi and operates as a deemed university under ICAR. The institute offers M.Sc., M.Tech., and PhD programs in over 25 agricultural disciplines. IARI has made landmark contributions to India's food security through development of high-yielding crop varieties, particularly in wheat and rice, which were central to India's Green Revolution.
