World Music Day: A Global Celebration in Harmony

Every June 21st, the world unites for World Music Day (Fête de la Musique). Public spaces transform into stages for over 1,000 musicians in Paris alone, showcasing the incredible diversity of music with classical orchestras, rock bands, and DJs.

French Minister of Culture Jack Lang envisioned a day celebrating music everywhere in 1981. That dream became reality in 1982, with the first Parisian festival's resounding success

A French Idea, a Global Movement

World Music Day isn't just about listening. It's about participation!  The tagline "Faites de la musique" (Make Music) encourages everyone to join in, regardless of skill level.

More Than Listening: A Day for All

Music transcends language and culture. World Music Day festivities, with free concerts, foster a sense of community and togetherness, uniting people through the power of music.

Music: The Universal Language

There are countless ways to celebrate World Music Day! Jam with friends, take a music lesson, discover new music, or create a World Music playlist. Let the spirit of music embrace you!
