UPSC CDS 2 Exam 2023 registration starts @upsc.gov.in
UPSC CDS 2 Exam 2023 registration has started and candidates keen on a career in the Indian Armed Forces can apply. The last date to submit applications is 6 June 2023 (6 PM).
UPSC CDS 2 also known as Union Public Service Commission Combined Defence Services 2 exam. This is held twice every year to recruit youngsters as officers in Indian Army, Indian Navy and Indian Air Force.
Exam conducted for the first time is known as UPSC CDS 1 and the same being held for the second time is usually known as UPSC CDS 2. The one conducted for the first time is known as the first edition and the one held for second time is known as second edition.
The exam for the first edition took place on 16 April 2023. The same for the second edition will be held on 3 September 2023. Hall ticket is to be available for download about 15 days before the exam.
Who can take up UPSC CDS 2 Exam 2023 registration?
Candidates who passed degree exam from a recognized educational institution can take up UPSC CDS 2 Exam 2023 registration which is nothing but applying for the exam.
Those willing to choose Indian Navy or Indian Air Force can preferably have a degree in technical discipline to take up UPSC CDS 2 Exam 2023 registration.
Candidates wishing to take up UPSC CDS 2 Exam 2023 registration must be an Indian citizen and should be unmarried.

Even a subject of Nepal or persons of Indian origin who has migrated to India from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India can take up UPSC CDS 2 Exam 2023.
However, subjects of Nepal or persons of Indian origin who have come to India must obtain eligibility certificate from Government of India before applying.
Candidates who take up UPSC CDS 2 Exam 2023 can choose any one of the above institutions to join. The last scheme is meant for women applicants. The total number of vacancies in the above institution are 349.

How to take up UPSC CDS 2 Exam 2023 registration?
The process to take up UPSC CDS 2 Exam 2023 is online and the official website of UPSC has to be visited to submit applications.
URL to visit the official website is ‘https://www.upsc.gov.in/’ This must be typed into the browser and the website must be allowed to download.
Once it is ready, candidates can click exam notification related to UPSC CDS 2 in ‘Whats New’ column. Once the link is clicked it will open new page with URL ‘https://www.upsc.gov.in/whats-new/Combined%20Defence%20Services%20Examination%20%28II%29%2C%202023/Exam%20Notification’
When the webpage with second URL opens up, candidates can read instructions related to the exam. After obtaining information, they can click the link of submitting application.
When link for submitting application with URL ‘https://upsconline.nic.in/upsc/OTRP/index.php’ opens up, candidates have to click New Registration to take up One Time Registration (OTR).
After OTR is completed, candidates can log in and choose the UPSC CDS 2 exam in the menu of exams and then fill the form and submit it.

Candidates can directly access the OTR page and click the New Registration link to take up One Time Registration (OTR). After that, candidates can start filling the form.
After finishing up the UPSC CDS 2 Exam 2023 registration, the candidates can wait for the message indicating successful submission of the application form. Once the message is obtained, candidates can download and take a printout and preserve it for future use.
Those who have already completed OTR earlier, can directly log in to fill the application form. Students who have completed UPSC CDS 2 Exam 2023 registration can download the hall ticket at the appropriate time.

After the hall ticket
Candidates can appear for the written exam and pass it with required qualifying marks. Those who pass the written exam can appear for SSB Interview.
Candidates can register for SSB Interview separately for Indian Army, Indian Navy and Indian Air Force. The interview will test physical fitness, mental ability and medical fitness of the candidates.
Final selection will likely be done based on performance in the SSB Interview. Those selected can join the services.
