The state government will pay for the initial travel costs of those travelling abroad and the education of students who pursue higher education at prestigious institutions of learning, such as the IITs, according to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin, who praised the students of government schools who are ready to enrol in prestigious universities both in India and abroad.

He emphasized the government’s commitment to support these students by covering initial travel expenses and educational costs, reinforcing the state’s dedication to fostering educational excellence. This announcement underscores the strides made under the Dravidian model, positioning Tamil Nadu as a leader in student enrollment for higher education.

The chief minister praised the 461 such youngsters from government schools, their parents, instructors, and School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi, as well as the education department, during his speech at this ceremony. “We could not have made this achievement without the School Education Department’s initiatives,” he stated. when almost a decade, “in these three years, after we came to power, children from government-run schools have been going to India’s premium higher education institutions,” he stated. Stalin reported that from 75 students in 2022 to 274 students in 2023, more kids were eligible for higher education at prestigious universities. The CM stated that as a result of all of the efforts made by the school education department to use technology for teaching, including the installation of high-tech labs, “our students are going to top notch educational institutions to study.” In addition to the IITs and NITs, other prestigious educational establishments include space science and law schools at National Law Universities.

14 TN students won international scholarships

In addition to achieving admission to some of India’s best colleges, 14 students from Tamil Nadu government schools were awarded full scholarships to study at prestigious universities in Malaysia, Taiwan, Japan, and other countries. “I am happy to announce that the government will bear the initial travel expenses of students going abroad and the education expenses of students set to join India’s premier higher education institutions,” the chief minister stated.

In addition to congratulating the 447 students enrolled in Indian colleges and the 14 students from Tamil Nadu government schools who will be attending international universities, he also gave commendation certificates and computers to 23 students from government schools.

Stalin made the argument that there are significant beneficial social and economic effects when students from government schools enroll in elite universities.

“With this, government school students are proving again and again that they are second to none.” When given the chance, students from government schools and marginalized backgrounds achieve remarkable things, he noted. Stalin declared that the Tamil Nadu government would always support the students and made an appeal to the leaders of elite educational institutions to offer government school students all assistance and encouragement.

What is CUCET 2025?

The full name of the test is Chandigarh University Common Entrance Test and is conducted by Chandigarh University in online mode.

Questions in the test depends on the subject in which the applicant desires to study in the institution.

Students who have passed CUCET 2025 with good scores can move to the next phase of the admission process which may involve interviews or counselling and document verification.

Students seeking admission in graduate courses or postgraduate programs can take up CUCET 2025 registration.

Those aiming for undergraduate programs have to pass plus-two with 50% pass marks in the exam.

Candidates who have passed graduation in the relevant discipline with 50% pass marks at the minimum can apply for postgraduate courses.

4. After registration, candidates can login and start CUCET 2025 registration (filling the CUCET application).

5. The form has to be filled and registration fee has to be paid and submitted.

Candidates can check with the institution about the possibility of taking up CUCET 2025 registration offline.

If the possibility exists, they can visit the institution or its authorized centers in person to obtain CUCET 2025 Application.

The students have to wait for the communication about the written test.

Passing the exam with required cutoff marks gets the eligibility to take part in the next phase of admission.
