Student creates record
SRM University AP was again a centre of attraction in the recent times when its student Vyshnavi Garipelly created a Guinness World Record through pioneering research using blockchain technologies implemented on cybersecurity.

Admission Open in VIT for 2025

The research work of SRM University AP student was published in on International Conference on Recent Challenges in Engineering and Technology (ICRCET) on 30 October this year.

Vyshnavi is currently studying final year in Computer Science and Engineering at SRM University AP.

Blockchain enables security systems, deployed in organizations, to use distributed key public
infrastructure to authenticate devices and users.

Blockchain’s robust DNS entry approach can improve security by removing a single target that can be compromised.

At the same time, it provides the ability to resolve single attack points and multiple targets, such as a database, network, or data centre, at a single access point.

It also provides the ability to resolve a single point of attacks while simultaneously resolving multiple target attacks, such as a server-sided attack.

The student of SRM University AP explored the possibility of Blockchain Technology into two significant areas of Cyber Security.

The first area which Vyshnavi of SRM University AP explored was ‘implementing security in private message.’

With the internet shrinking the world into a global village, more and more people are joining
social media.

The number of social media platforms is also on the rise. More social apps are being launched with each dawn as conversational commerce gains popularity.

These attacks resulted in data breaches with millions of accounts being hacked and user information landing into the wrong hands.

Blockchain technologies, if well implemented in these messaging systems, may prevent such future cyberattacks.

The other area which SRM University AP student explored was ‘transaction security developed by Coin App.

Coin App is an easy-to-use cryptocurrency application for resource-constrained businesses that are not currently equipped to handle the ledger information securely.

Coin App replaces third-party transaction vendors and it keeps all transactional data between two peers encrypted.

The boosted level of security helps companies to keep transparent records in a public sphere.

Lecture on art of science
Secretary of Department of Science and Technology of Government of India Professor Ashutosh Sharma delivered a lecture on the topic ‘Art of Science in the Time of Virus and Beyond: The Brave New World’

The lecture was delivered at SRM University AP. Covid-19 taught us the lesson that sustainable development can address major challenges.

He urged everyone to do their individual jobs well. Professor Sharma informed that capacity of learning is the most prized possession.

Speaking further at the lecture at SRM University AP, Professor Sharma said capacity to adapt to change, learn new things, and lifelong learning is paramount to thrive.

The convergence of multiple disciplines has an instrumental role in solving crucial problems, he said delivering the lecture at SRM University AP.

‘Our education system must have parallel structures for multidisciplinary knowledge creation and research.’

‘We should be crossing borders of knowledge and expanding the boundaries of disciplines.’

Professor Sharma suggested that scientific community must become self-reliant.

Quality, relevance and appropriate direction of knowledge will lead the world, said Professor Sharma delivering the lecture at SRM University AP.

Coupled with it, cultural aspects such as self-confidence and self-respect makes up the art of science.

Emphasizing on the importance of collaboration, Prof Sharma said Covid 19 spontaneously spurred the spirit of collaboration with a clear and shared purpose.

Researchers should have a scientific temper which entails rational analysis of situation, positivity, optimism and cooperation.

The scientific community should critically challenge views, be inquisitive and be able to engage people in purposeful conversation, he said.
