Eligibility
Individuals desiring to apply for Punjab Police SI vacancies should be 18 years old as on 1 January 2021 and the maximum age should be 28 years old.
Applicants must have passed a bachelors degree from a recognised institution.
They should have passed Punjabi as one of the subject in their matriculation examination.
Those who did not study Punjabi in their matriculation must pass any other equivalent exam in Punjabi specified by Punjab Government from time to time.
OR
The applicant can also be a graduate from a recognised institution with one of the subjects as Computer Science or Computer Science Applications or Information Technology.
OR
The applicant can also be a BE/BSc/BTech in Information Technology or Computer Science or
Computer Engineering or Computer Science & Engineering or Information Systems or Computer Networking or Data Science or Software Engineering or BCA or Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications.
Age relaxation
Candidates from SC/BC categories and who are residents of are eligible for an upper age relaxation of 5 years. The maximum age should be 33 years as on 1 January 2021.
Ex-servicemen, who are residents of Punjab, shall be allowed to deduct the period of his/her service in the Armed Forces of the Union from his actual age, and if the resultant age does not exceed the maximum age limit prescribed for direct appointment to such a vacancy in the Service Rules concerned by more than three (3) years, she/he shall be deemed to satisfy the conditions regarding
age limit.
Serving employees of Government (Central or any other state Government or Punjab Government) will also get upper age relaxation by five years but their upper age should not be 33 as on 1 January 2021.
Candidates who pass the test must attend Physical Measurement Test (PMT) Physical Screening Test (PST).
Applicants who passed the PMT and PST in connection with Punjab Police SI recruitment must also pass medical examination.
The final selection shall be based on performance in the written test, PMT and PST and medical examination.
Candidates who pass all the above stages of Punjab Police SI recruitment will get the appointment offer.
Point to remember
The allocation of selected candidates to different cadres shall be on the basis of their respective merit (based strictly on the basis of marks obtained in the Written Test), normalisation and the indicated cadre preference against available category-wise vacancies subject to the candidates fulfilling the requisite eligibility criteria, which could be/are different for the various cadres.
In case, a candidate applies for only one cadre in the Common Application Form, he/she shall be considered only for posts in that cadre and not for posts in any other cadre.
Pay scale
The pay for those selected for the Punjab Police SI vacancy will get Rs 35,400 (minimum pay admissible) at Level 6 of 7th CPC/Pay Matrix.

Written Test

Negative marking
Candidates attending the written test for Punjab Police SI vacancy must be careful as there is a negative marking.
Every correct answer will fetch one mark, a wrong answer would lead to loss of 25% of mark assigned to each question (1 mark).

Male ex-servicemen more than 35 years

They must also complete 10 situps within 3 minutes.
Female candidates
Female candidates taking part in the physical must complete 800 metres running in 5mts.

They must also complete Long Jump of 3.00 metres, they will get three chances to finish the jump.
Female candidates must take part in High Jump of 0.90 metres. They will get three chances to complete the High Jump.
Male
