About the vacancies

OPSC recruitment 2021 will fill the 356 posts of medical officers in Odisha Government.

About 170 vacancies are for Ayurvedic Medial Officers and 186 are for Ayurvedic Medical Officers.

Out of the 170 vacancies of Ayurvedic medical officer, 14 of them are for SC and 56 are for ST candidates and unreserved vacancies are 100.

As far as Homeopathic Medical Officer is concerned, out of 186 posts, SC and ST has 8 and 85 posts, 87 posts are for unreserved categories and SEBC category has 6 posts.

Eligibility
Applicants keen on Ayurvedic Medical Officer post through this OPSC recruitment 2021 must be a pass in Bachelor’s Degree in Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) from an institution recognised from Central Council of Indian Medicine.

The applicant must also be registered with Odisha State Council of Ayurvedic Medicines.

Applicants targeting Homeopathic Medical Officer posts through OPSC recruitment 2021 must have passed in Bachelors in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS) from an institution recognised by Central Council of Homeopathy.

The candidate must also be registered with Odisha State Board of Homeopathic Medicines.

Age limit
Candidates applying for both the posts through OPSC recruitment 2021 must be 21 years old and not more than 32 years as on 1 January 2021.

However, candidates from SC/ST categories would get age relaxation of five years.

Ex-servicemen, women and physically challenged applicants can get an age relaxation of 10 years.

About 30 percent is for career marking and 70 are for written test.

Career marking is nothing but performance of the candidate in class 10, class 12 and the qualifying degree exam.

The written test will have two papers for 100 marks.

Each paper will have questions in multiple choice format. The time to answer questions in each paper is one-and-half hours.
