NIT Andhra Pradesh great convocation on 13 November
NIT Andhra Pradesh will turn center of attraction when it will conduct its convocation on 13 November. It is interesting to note that the institution would conduct its 2nd and 3rd convocation jointly on that day.
A total of 381 candidates of 2016-20 batch and 412 candidates of 2017-21 batch will be awarded degrees during this convocation of NIT Andhra Pradesh.
Sources from NIT Andhra Pradesh say, chief guest is Dr. G. Satheesh Reddy who is the chairman of Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). He will deliver the convocation address.
Dr. Dasarath Ram Yadav, Director, Defence Research and Development Laboratory (DRDL) will be the Guest Honour. Ms. Mridula Ramesh, Chairperson, Board of Governors (BoG), NIT Andhra Pradesh will preside over the ceremony.
NIT Andhra Pradesh director Professor C.S.P. Rao said three batches of students have graduated successfully so far and a total of 793 candidates will receive their degrees during this 2nd and 3rd Joint Convocation.
Two students will get Institute Topper Medals and Sixteen B.Tech students will receive gold medals for the securing highest CGPA in their respective branches, said NIT Andhra Pradesh director.

Professor C.S.P. Rao further said a good number of candidates are anticipated to attend the convocation physically with their parents.
NIT Andhra Pradesh is rapidly growing and reporting good results in all aspects of academic, research and infrastructure activities and become competent to old NITs in the country.
Further, Institute wishes to participate in the NIRF Ranking this year after successful graduation of three batches of students in full-time undergraduate programmes, he said.
There are a total of 381 graduates from the second convocation (2016-20 batch) and about 229 are men and 152 are women. The institute topper in this 2016-20 batch is V. Karthik Reddy of Mechanical Engineering with a CGPA of 9.59.
The third convocation (2017-21 batch) has 412 graduates and 313 of them are men and 99 are women. Institute topper in this batch is B. Anusha of Electronics and Communication Engineering with CGPA of 9.46.

NIT Andhra Pradesh is established in the State of Andhra Pradesh during in the academic year 2015-16.
A new campus has been established with 172.6 acres of land adjacent to Chennai-Kolkata Highway (NH-16) in the air-strip lands of Tadepalligudem. Presently the institute is fully running from the permanent campus.
NIT Andhra Pradesh offers B.Tech. programmes in eight engineering branches – Bio-Technology, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Metallurgical and Materials Engineering besides M.Tech. programme in eight specializations.
The Institute also offers Ph.D. (both under Full-time and Part-time modes) programme in the above-mentioned engineering branches, Sciences, Humanities and Management, viz., Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English and Management, and M.S.(by Research) programme in the above-mentioned eight engineering branches.
NIT Andhra Pradesh has a total of140 Faculty members and 2,657 students, of whom2,299 are undergraduate students, 100 are postgraduate students and 258 are PhD Research Scholars.
