Loyola Alumni Association organizes Loyola Alumni Day
Loyola Alumni Association (LAA) organizes Annual Loyola Alumni Day (LAD) on the first Sunday of August every year.
This year LAD is a very special day as it marks the inauguration of the Centennial Year celebrations of Loyola College.
Main Objective
The main objective of this Alumni day is to bring all alumni members, current students, retired professors & faculty under one roof to:
◊ Facilitate networking sessions with the industry experts from across sectors
◊ Organise an interactive sessions to exchange memories, share their ideas and experiences
◊ Reiterate the importance of developing connections to explore innovation and technology
Inauguration
The LAD 2024 was inaugurated by Tamil Nadu Minister for Youth Welfare and Sports Development Udhayanidhi Stalin, say sources from Loyola Alumni Association.
Others present were, Rev. Dr. A. Louie Albert, S J, Director Loyola Alumni Association (LAA). President of Loyola Alumni Association Dr G Viswanathan was also among those present.
Vice presidents of Loyola Alumni Association Mr. T R Thamilarasu, Mr. S Xavier Britto and Mr. A M S G Ashokan also were present along with Mr J. Balamurugan, Secretary and other members of the Executive Committee of Loyola Alumni Association (LAA).
On LAD 2024
Commenting on the LAD 2024, Robin MA Jacob said this year LAD event brought together experts from various industries and renowned personalities from diverse sectors shared their experiences and perspectives as well as reconnecting with the college and its students.
He further said this LAD 2024 was very memorable not only for the alumni but also for their family and students to further strengthen their relationship by witnessing their nostalgic experience.
Interactive Sessions
The best part of the LAD 2024 was the interactive sessions with the department members and retired professors, say sources from Loyola Alumni Association.
The heartfelt speeches by the industry veterans inspired the audience on the importance of developing connections created during the academics by Loyola.
They honour leaders who have made a substantial impact on society based on their contribution to different areas of work. The winners of the awards for 2024 are:
◊Public Guiding Light of the Year: Mr. M.K. Narayanan
◊Service Excellence Award: Dr. Santhosh Mathew, IAS
◊Professional Excellence Award: Mr. Thiyagarajan Kumar
◊Sporting Excellence Award: Ms. Vidya Pillai
Also, the organising committee conducted a series of programmes during the meet such as campus tour, gala musical evening, games and entertainment for the families.
The selfie corner was the icing on the cake which drawn the attention of the audience and made the event more special, colourful and exciting, say sources from Loyola Alumni Association.

Currently, there are 64,000+ members, around 20,000 connected alumni with over 20 domestic and 35 chapters across the globe.
The strength of LAA is its global reach and the presence of alumni members has been felt all over the world.
LAA is managed by The President, Director, Secretary & EC Members. The President of the Association is Dr. G. Viswanathan the Chancellor of VIT and the Director is Rev. Dr. A. Louie Albert, S.J.
