About JETAgriculture2020
JETAgriculture2020 is an exam conducted by Agriculture University in Kota, Rajasthan for offering admission into courses namely BSc Honours in Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry and BTech in Dairy Technology/Food Technology. The other name for the test is Rajasthan Joint Entrance Test (Rajasthan JET).
The questions in the exam will be of multiple choice format, where they will find more than one answer for each question, candidates must choose the right answer.
The exam will have 200 questions totally which will be equally catered among five subjects. Agriculture, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics will have 40 questions each. The total marks in the exam are 800.
Candidates aspiring to join BTech courses as mentioned earlier must answer questions in Physics, Maths and Chemistry. While those joining BSc courses should answer any three of the five subjects for answering in the exam.
JETAgriculture2020 Syllabus
The questions will be based on 12th standard level lessons of Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Agriculture. And the subject wise syllabus lessons are provided here and candidates can see the subject and related lessons and begin preparing.
Agriculture
General proficiency and general knowledge in Agriculture, Pulses-Green gram, cowpea, pigeonpea, black gram, kidney bean, gram and pea, Oil seeds-Groundnut, sesame, soybean, mustard, linseed, safflower, sunflower and taramira, Cash crop-Sugarcane, potato and tobacco, Fiber crops-Cotton and Sunhemp, Fodder crops-Berseem, lucerne, oat, cluster-bean and pearl millet
Spices-Fenugreek, cumin and coriander, characteristics of quality seed, seed germination and factors affecting it, Seed production-nucleus, foundation and certified seeds, Dry farming-importance, characteristics and principles.
Crop production technology in dry farming areas, Mixed cropping, its types and benefits, Crop rotation, its principles and advantages, Tillage: objectives, primary and secondary tillage, Sowing methods.
Seed treatment, seed dormancy and ways to remove it, Importance of fruits and vegetables production, Importance of livestock in agriculture.
Biology
Unity of Life, Continuity of Life, Plant Physiology, Environmental Biology, Botany and Human Welfare, Invertebrates, Vertebrates.
Chemistry
Structure of Atom, Periodic Table and Periodicity in Properties, Chemical Bonding and Molecular Structure, Redox reaction, Chemical Equilibrium, Chemical Kinetics, Ionic Equilibria, Acids and Bases, Energetics.
Colloidal State of Matter, Metals, ‘s’- Block elements, d-Block elements, Chemistry in Action, Synthetic and Natural Polymers, Aromatic compounds, Aliphatic amines.
Structure and Reactivity, Valency of carbon and Hybridisation, Pyrolysis, (Grignard reagents) Organo Metallic compounds, Saturated Hydrocarbons (upto 5 carbon atoms), Unsaturated Hydrocarbons, Organic Chemistry based on functional groups a:, Organic Chemistry based on functional groups b:.
Mathematics
Algebra of complex numbers, Relations and functions, Matrices, Vector, Parabola, Three Dimensional Geometry, Probability, Function, Limit and Continuity, Differentiability, Derivatives, Application of derivatives.
Successive differentiation, Methods of Integration, Integration of functions, Definite Integral, Quadrature. Trignometric Functions, Statistics, Co-ordinate geometry: Circle : Parametric co-ordinates, Pair of tangents, chord of contact, Pole and polar system of circles, equation of common chord of two circles.
one circle and one line, circles passing through points of intersection of two given circles, definition and equation of radical axis of two circles, condition for orthogonality of two circles.
Physics
Dynamics of a particle, Rotational motion, Heat & Termodynamics, Radiation, Waves, Wave Optics, Electrostatics, Kirchoff’s Laws, Magnetic effects of current, Electromagnetic Induction, Alternating currents, Electromagnetic waves, Photo Electric Effect and Matter Waves, Semiconducting Electronic Devices.
Thermodynamics: Carnot cycle, Second law of thermodynamics, Reversible and irreversible thermodynamics processes, Heat engines; external and internal combustion engines (description only), the efficiency of heat engine.

Preparation tips
Candidates have to know the syllabus of the subjects for the exam well. They have to work out a study schedule in a manner that all the subjects get equal attention. Applicants must also go for frequent revisions also, so that they can remember their lessons well.
The best thing to do is also to access the previous year question papers and practise them well. Even mock tests also can be taken, students can try attempting to answer all questions in a fixed time frame. Even if first attempt does not yield success, repeated efforts will bestow success and confidence.
