IIT students launch great help for NEET/JEE 2020 aspirants
IIT students launch great help for NEET/JEE 2020 aspirants – IIT students and alumni have won praise from various quarters for their good deed of launching a portal to help NEET and JEE aspirants seek transportation to reach their exam centre.
This move by IIT students and former students comes amidst a situation when things are increasingly becoming challenging.
And in this situation what is likely to take a backseat is transportation. Lack of this facility will make it difficult for JEE Mains and NEET aspirants to reach the exam centres, says T. Manoharan, a Physics lecturer.
What makes things difficult is the fact that many students have gone back to their native places soon after the lockdown was imposed on the whole nation to break the spread of the virus.
Social media became an obvious platform in the whole gamut of developments for NEET and JEE aspirants to express concerns over lack of transport and the risks involved on travelling.

These concerns seems to have been taken note of by IIT students and alumni. They did not lose a minute and began developing a portal which can address the concerns of NEET and JEE aspirants.
Speaking more about the platform, couple of IIT students and former students said that the portal named ‘Eduride’ can be of great help to candidates coming from remote areas in reaching exam centres.
The portal developed by IIT students and former students is divided into two sections for registration. While one section is for students to register, the other section is for alumni or volunteers to register.
Students (JEE Mains or NEET aspirants) who want transport services have to go to the website ‘https://www.eduride.in/’ and click ‘Student’ link written in black colour on yellow background to register.
JEE Mains or NEET aspirants have to click the above button and provide their name, contact details, their residential address along with pincode and address of the exam centre along with pincode and admitcard details and then register.
IIT alumni or volunteers who are ready to offer transport services to help JEE Mains or NEET aspirants reach the exam centres must click ‘Alumni/Volunteer’ button written in black colour on yellow blackground and register themselves.
Alumni or volunteers can go the website of Eduride at ‘https://www.eduride.in/’ for registration. Alumni or volunteers can offer services in three ways.
They can themselves drive the students to the exam centres or can arrange travel for the exam aspirants to reach their exam centres or donate to facilitate the transport.
Aspirants for NEET or JEE Mains can register on the above website and seek transport help to reach their exam centres and IIT students or former students or volunteers will be there to offer transport services.

Keeping an alternative for students writing the exams will prove useful incase the promised help sought from the website does not materialise due to one reason or the other.
The diclaimer on the website brought out by IIT students and alumni says the information available on the website is uploaded by individuals seeking or providing transportation help.
The genuineness is to be evaluated by the individual. ‘We are not responsible for any wrong information. This website is developed with a motive to help the students who are facing the transport issues,’ says the disclaimer.
We strongly recommend the users to do a thorough verification before trusting someone, says the disclaimer on the website developed by IIT students.
However, it is not a promise to ensure that offered service will be available.
‘We request you to keep an alternate option ready to reach the exam center on your own in case of any eventuality.’
Website formed by IIT students says Eduride and IITs follow data & privacy protection policy.
No data will be shared with any third parties without the consent of the owner.
The collected information will be used only for its defined objective of arranging transportation upto examination center.
The ride partners of Eduride are aha, GOZO, Ola and rapido.
