IIT Jodhpur has embarked on an ambitious mission to establish itself as one of the top destinations in the country for a wholesome education with the right mix of flexible academics, cutting-edge research, curiosity-driven innovation and a curriculum built on technology foresight.

IIT Jodhpur convocation remained a grand affair indeed and the those who graduated included 27 PhD scholars, 130 MTech students, 67 MSc students and 180 BTech students.

Chairman of Board of Governors at IIT Jodhpur congratulated the graduating students. Speaking at IIT Jodhpur convocation he said ‘to the graduating class, I would like to say that it is your responsibility to make India a ‘Knowledge Economy’, a country with the ability to generate new knowledge.

After the degrees you get today, you young people will start a new chapter in your careers, pursuing research, or acquiring additional academic qualifications, or in industries, he said at IIT Jodhpur convocation.

I wish you all the best in your future careers and hope that your efforts will lead us to become a ‘Developed country, he said at IIT Jodhpur convocation.

My recommendation to all the IIT Jodhpur graduates is to go out and touch other people’s lives in whatever you do. Your intelligence, capacity to do work and the education you have earned empowers you to identify yourself with people who are not as fortunate, he said during IIT Jodhpur convocation.

The way you react and interact are all very important in future. I am sure many of you will have an opportunity to transform this world and that’s the true essence of this graduation day! I wish you all the very best in the life ahead, he said during at IIT Jodhpur convocation.

In the message at IIT Jodhpur convocation, Minister Dharmendra Pradhan emphasised that in line with the vision of the Government of India to impetus to entrepreneurial spirit and startups, IIT Jodhpur has setup the Technology Innovation and Startup Center to promote startups and programmes funded on scientific discovery to solve critical, real world issues through transformative technologies.

Medal winners

President of India Gold Medal went to Mayank Raj of Computer Science and Engineering during IIT Jodhpur convocation. Chairman, Board of Governors Gold Medal was presented to Aksh Chordia of Electrical Engineering. Director’s Gold Medal went to Geetika Agrawal of Electrical Engineering.

Velsathon is a 24 hour hackathon content being conducted by Vels Innovation Council of Vels Institute of Science, Technology And Advanced Studies (VISTAS).

They can work out the solutions in a most innovative or creative manner and then win prizes. Prizes worth Rs 25000 would be given away to those who prove their mettle in the competition, say sources from Vels Innovation Council.

They can visit the social media accounts on Facebook or Instagram and then scan the QR code present on the image related to Velsathon and that will open a form. The form can be filled and submitted, say sources from Vels Innovation Council.

The website address mentioned above can be typed in the browser and submitted to allow it to download. Once the webpage is ready, candidates can scroll down the webpage to find Velsathon image with the scanner under vistaspallavaram_official menu.

Once the image is found, candidates can scan the QR code there to obtain the form and fill it to take part in the contest.
