IIM Lucknow welcomes new batches with a 3 day induction program

IIM Lucknow welcomed new students over a grand three day induction programme.

Students welcomed were the 40th batch of Post Graduate Programme (PGP), 21st batch of Post Graduate Programme in Agribusiness Management (PGP-ABM).

Also welcomed were 10th batch of Post Graduate Programme in Sustainable Management (PGP-SM), and 25th batch of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programmes with an elaborate three-day induction program, say sources from IIM Lucknow.

The inaugural event was graced by the esteemed presence of Munish Sharda, Executive Director, Axis Bank and an IIM Lucknow alumnus, Class of 1997.

In addition to the Chief Guest, the inaugural program witnessed the presence of the top leadership team of IIM Lucknow including Prof. Archana Shukla, Director.

Others present were Prof. Vikas Srivastava, Dean Programs; Prof. Suresh Jakhar, Chairperson PGP; Prof. Dipti Gupta, Chairperson PGPSM.

Prof. Pushpendra Priyadarshi, Chairperson Doctoral Program; and Prof. Priyanka Sharma, Chairperson Student Affairs & Placement were also among those present.

Inaugural address at IIM Lucknow

During his inaugural address, Munish Sharda, Executive Director at Axis Bank and an IIM Lucknow alumnus from the Class of 1997, emphasized six key principles of leadership.

He said IIM Lucknow is more than just an institution; it’s a cradle of leadership. Our ethos rests on six guiding principles: First, cultivate a growth mindset and use setbacks as stepping stones.

As you embark on your journey here, do not limit yourself to a single direction; explore and enrich yourself with everything that is being offered, he said.

He further said ‘Do not become a utility maximizer, instead focus on those aspects that resonate deeply with you.

Avoid the trap of FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) and external validation.’

Focus on what you are passionate about and give it your full attention. You can’t excel in everything, but you can excel at what you are truly good at, he said.
