IIM Calcutta's achievement: Stands great 2nd amongst India's B-Schools
IIM Calcutta’s achievement is all about the great rank it secured in the recently declared Financial Times Masters in Management Rankings 2020.
IIM Calcutta has been ranked second in India and second in Asia among the five Indian B-schools listed in the rankings.
IIM Calcutta’s achievement reflects the high quality of education provided by the institute and the outcome of successful employment and career progression among the MBA programme’s alumni.
Categories taken into account in the rankings include alumni career progress, school diversity and international experience and research.
IIM Calcutta’s achievement became possible as it excelled in several criteria in these categories which include the salary of graduates three years after graduation, salary percentage increase and career progress of alumni since graduation, and the effectiveness of career services with jobs upon graduation.
There is more to it than meets the eye. IIM Calcutta also did well in terms of diversity including the percentage of female faculty and percentage of female students, international faculty, international board members and international course experience.
A good performance in all these areas have also made for IIM Calcutta’s achievement materialise.

Other parameters that are considered in the rankings include value for money ranking, involvement of women in the Institute’s board, international student in-take, international mobility ranking of alumni, faculty with doctorates and other languages known.
