ICG job is all about the vacancies of Assistant Commnandants in Indian Coast Guard (ICG) for which applications are being invited from eligible SC/ST/OBC category candidates.
Candidates can apply for ICG job from 1 am of 21 December till 11:59 pm of 27 December.

The eligibility
The candidates willing to apply for this ICG job must be male candidates who have passed degree exam from a recognised educational institution.
The candidates must have passed their degree exam with a minimum of 60 pecent pass marks.
The applicants for ICG job have have mathematics and physics as one of the subjects in plus-two level and pass marks in them should be 60 percent minimum.
Candidates who donot have Maths and Physics as subjects at plus-two level are not eligible for General Duty (GD).
The applicants for ICG job must be born between 1 July 1996 to 30 June 2000 (both dates inclusive).
Relaxations
Applicants from SC/ST categories will have an age relaxation of five years, candidates from OBC category who apply for ICG job will have an age relaxation of three years.
Also, SC/ST category candidates will get a relaxation of 5 percent in aggregate pass percentage in their qualifying (degree) exam.
There will be no relaxation with regards to 12th class marks.
Points to remember
Candidates with higher percentage of marks will get preference while shortlisting candidates for ICG job.
Applicants who have finished their qualifying degree exams and have passed them are eligible to apply.
Candidates who are withdrawn on disciplinary grounds from any service training academy are also not eligible to apply.
How to apply
Applicants for ICG job of Assistant Commandants must remember that the procedure to apply is online.
They have to visit the official website of Indian Coast Guard ‘https://www.joinindiancoastguard.gov.in/’ for applying ICG job.
Soon after the website downloads, applicants for ICG job can see a button ‘Opportunities’ written in black colour on white background.
Soon after clicking ‘Opportunities’ button, applicants will see another page where they have to choose the adverstisement titled ‘Recruitment of Assistant Commandant 02/2021 Batch (SRD)’
After that applicants have to select the post ‘Assistant Commandant – General Duty (Male)’ to applied for.
After that applicants must click on ‘I Agree’ button and the ‘Online Application’ for ICG job (post of Assistant Commandants) will be displayed.
Applicants can commence applying for ICG job, entries which are marked with Star (*, Asterisk) symbol have to be filled compulsorily.
The name of the candidate, his father’s name and mother’s name and date of birth must be filled in the application as mentioned in their 10th class marksheet.
Candidates while filling the application form of ICG job must indicate exact percentage of 12th and graduation marks upto two decimals and this is not to be rounded off.
Candidates to choose any one venue for PSB out of the options displayed.
Applicants for ICG job must also provide their email id and mobile phone number and both of them are compulsory.
The date, time and venue of the test and other information will be informed through personal email ID and also Coast Guard recruitment website.
The current or permanent addess of applicants mentioned in the application form for ICG job must be the same as the address mentioned in caste/category certificate (SC,ST and OBC).
Category certificate produced by OBC-Non Creamy Layer category candidates must not be older than three years.
Candidate have to upload the photograph and signature in jpeg format and their image quality must be about 200 dpi.
The size of photograph and signature must be between 10 kb to 40 kb and 10 kb to 30 kb respectively.
Post submission of application form successfully for ICG job, applicants will receive Application Registration number.
Candidates have to preserve the application registration number for which they have to preserve, as this number will have to be used for downloading hallticket of the exam.

Application submission for ICG job can be done from 1 am to 21 December to 11:59 pm of 27 December.
The hall-tickets for the exam in connection with this ICG job will be available for print from 6 to 10 January 2021.

However, candidates who have applied for ICG job must remember that only candidates who are shortlisted can only download the hall-ticket with help of their application registration number.
Candidates whose applications are rejected will get a display of Rejection Slip displaying the reason for rejection soon after they enter using their application registration number.
Post application process
Soon after candidates download their halltickets, applicants must first attend the exam in connection with ICG job.
Applicants must reach about 30 minutes before the commencement of exam.
The exam in connection with ICG job will comprise Mental Ability Test/ Cognitive Aptitude Test and
Picture Perception & Discussion Test (PP&DT).
The aptitude tests will be in English only and will be of objective type.
During PP&DT the candidates are expected to speak and discuss in English.
However, they are free to speak in Hindi if they wish to do so.
The preliminary selection will be conducted tentatively from 20 January to 20 February 2021 at following centres or any other centre promulgated by Coast Guard:
(a) Coast Guard Regional Headquarters (West), Worli Sea Face, PO- Worli Colony,

(b) Coast Guard Store Depot, CG Complex, Near Kalmandapam Police Station, GM Pettai Road, Royapuram, Chennai – 600 013.
(c) Coast Guard Regional Headquarters (North East), Synthesis Business Park, 6th floor, Shrachi Building, New Town, Rajarhat, Kolkata – 700 161.
(d) Coast Guard Selection Board, C-1, Near Indus Valley Public School, Sector-62, Noida, UP – 201 309.
The final selection
Candidates who have passed the exam (first stage) will have to attend the second stage.
The second stage is also known as final stage which will consist Psychological Test, Group Task and Interview (Personality test).
The second stage of the recruitment in connection with ICG job will tentatively take place from end of February to middle of March next year.

Medical standards
Applicants for ICG job must also be physically and medically fit.
Candidates who have passed the final stage have to undergo medical exam at nearest Military Hospital as per medical standard prescribed in current regulations applicable to Assistant Commandant entry.
Physical and medical standards
The medical and physical standards for applicants of ICG job are given below:
(a) Height. Assistant Commandant (GD): 157 cms minimum. Reduction in height for candidates from hilly areas and tribal areas will be in accordance with the Central Govt. regulations.
(b) Weight: Proportionate to the Height and Age, + 10 % acceptable.
(c) Chest: Well proportionate, minimum expansion 5 cms.
(d) Eye Sight: Asst Commandant (GD)- 6/6 6/9 – Uncorrected without Glass, 6/6 6/6 – Corrected with Glass.
A merit list will be prepared for the medically fit candidates on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates at final selection and depending upon the availability of vacancies.
The list of candidates selected on the basis of merit list will be uploaded in Coast Guard recruitment website ‘www.joinindiancoastguard.gov.in’ during the month of May 2021.
The joining letters will be issued accordingly. The training at INA, Ezhimala is scheduled to commence in end Jun 2021.
