HCAS webinar: Great seminar focuses on COVID-19 strategies of Taiwan
HCAS webinar organised recently focused on COVID-19 handling strategies followed in Taiwan. The event conducted by Department of Social Work of Hindustan College of Arts and Science saw Dr. Yinghuei Chen from International College Asia University (Taiwan) speak in depth about strategies followed in Taiwan to battle corona virus outbreak.
Dr. Yinghuei speaking at HCAS webinar said there are only 445 cases and seven have died and global cases cases have exceeded eight million.
Dr. Yinghuei showed the picture of Christopher Columbus and Tsung Hu, a king from Ming dynastry during the HCAS webinar and said the attitude is more important.
Columbus was able to discover America because of attitude. He drove home the point at HCAS webinar that attitude was important when it comes to battling a disease like COVID-19.
That is not all, he said and added in HCAS webinar that raising awareness is the most important thing to be done when it comes to battling corona virus outbreak.
Attitude and honesty are also important, said the Dr. Yinghuei. And said at HCAS webinar that there is transparency of information as press conferences are conducted every day.
The government there in Taiwan took immediate action with regards to implementing precautionary measures. The measures were implemented quickly even the local population was also cooperating, he said at the HCAS webinar.
The fight against the ailment was unified, where both government and local communities came together. While government did its job people did their due by following the required precautions.
Speaking more at the HCAS webinar Dr. Yinghuei said latest technologies like social media was used for empowerment of its citizens.
Even the medical system did its due in waging a war against COVID-19, he said at the HCAS webinar reminding that Taiwan has a very good medical system in place.
Everyone can be seen wearing facemasks in Taiwan, he said and reminded that Taiwan government signed a contract with mask manufacturer.
Doctors in Taiwan take turns in appearing on television wearing facemasks and following other precautions to tell people on what has to be done to battle COVID-19.
Spelling out the secret behind the success in battling COVID-19 at the HCAS seminar he said following social distancing, self management of health, home quarantine and home isolation are essential for battling corona virus.
Speaking about India during HCAS webinar, he further said battling COVID-19 in India also can be successful. Both the people and governments have to be serious about the disease, he added.
India can practise work from home using high technology and also violating COVID-19 policies must be dealt strictly. Imposing heavy fines in India can be done as they do in Taiwan.
For rural people and other special sectors government allocates money with lower interest and Taiwan is an export oriented economy and it is not affected.
