Cyber Peace Foundation to upksill great 5 lakh Indians
Cyber Peace Foundation (CPF) launched a training programme on cyber peace and cyber security.
The training programme of Cyber Peace Foundation was launched in association with Ministry of Education of Government of India, AICTE, industry and academia and civil societies.
The objective behind the initiative is to handle issues like cyber crimes, harassment, abuse and radicalisation that have come out following the wake of technological advancement.
The other aim behind the launch of training programme by CPF is to build a safe ecosystem of cyber security communities where internet becomes a strength and not a liability for this nation’s youth.
Another objective behind the launch of training programme by CPF is to research on the problems faced online and develop innovative solutions to these problems and also to help youth to expand their knowledge and skills on internet.
Cyber Peace Foundation to upksill great 5 lakh Indians
About 50 cyber peace clubs will engage five lakh students and educators as a part of this programme of Cyber Peace Foundation.
They will be engaged in topics related to cyber peace and cyber security activities such as a hackathons, global cyber peace challenge and e-raksha competitions.
There is more to it than meets the eye as far as the initiative of Cyber Peace Foundation is concerned.
Taking up student development initiatives like volunteer induction workshops and awareness workshops involving techno-social research experts is also a part of the training programme launched by Cyber Peace Foundation.
A network comprising about 25,000 CyberPeace Corps voluteers will be established as a part of the programme launched by Cyber Peace Foundation.
Some of the topics the training programme of Cyber Peace Foundation will deal are digital citizenship, digital rights and responsibilities, cyber ethics.
Digital etiquette, cyber health and wellness, misinformation, cyber laws and reporting and new technologies such as block chain, IoT Security and Artificial Intelligence are also the topics Cyber Peace Foundation’s training programme will deal with.
AICTE chairman Professor Anil Sahasrabudhe launched the programme of Cyber Peace Foundation.
It is happy to note that the training programme of Cyber Peace Foundation aspires to train more than five lakh students in issues related to cyber security where more than two crore vacancies exist.
Speaking about the training programme, Vineet Kumar, founder and president of Cyber Peace Foundation said cyber attacks have gone up in India and globally during the pandemic.
‘On the National Youth Day, we are delighted to partner with the Ministry of Education and AICTE to up skill half a million students across India in crucial cybersecurity skills.’
AICTE chief coordinating officer Dr. Buddha Chandrasekhar said the increasing frequency of hacker attacks targeting organizational networks has created a need for cybersecurity experts and professionals.
With the initiative launched jointly with Cyber Peace Foundation, we wish to empower more than five lakh students and faculty members and train them on how to defend themselves and create cyber security volunteer and form cyber peace clubs, he said.
As per a statistic there would be 3.5 million unfilled Cybersecurity positions globally by 2021.
With all of these initiatives and activities, the program by Cyber Peace Foundation strives to get more students in the cybersecurity field.
This would ensure presence of enough manpower for cybersecurity positions.
It would also empower the participants to be aware of their digital rights and responsibilities.
The programme by Cyber Peace Foundation will help making safe, smart, informed choices and become hygiene conscious by following healthy online practices, recognize and manage online risk and to become responsible netizens following the rules and regulations.
