CLAT 2025 Exam To Be Held on 1 December, Registration, Eligibility, Exam Pattern Explained Here

CLAT 2025 Exam will be conducted on 1 December 2024 from 2 PM to 4 PM. The date has been announced in a notification on the official website of the exam.

The dates for commencement of CLAT 2025 Exam application submission will likely be announced in due course, according to the notification.

CLAT 2025 ExamConsortium of National Law Universities (CNLU) will be conducting the exam on the date mentioned above. Students willing to study graduation or postgraduation in law can focus on CLAT 2025 Exam.

Those who pass the exam will be able to seek admission in five-year integrated LLB and LLM courses in 22 National Law Universities (NLUs) situated in various locations of India.

CLAT 2025 Exam Application Submission Dates

The dates for opening CLAT 2025 Exam Application Submission will be announced in due course. It is usual trend to commence application submission a month or two before the exam date.

Taking that into account one can expect CLAT 2025 Exam Application Submission to commence in September or October or November this year.

This is however, a guess work, the exact information would be available on the official website at the appropriate time.

About CLAT 2025 Exam

CLAT is expanded into Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) and is a national level entrance exam conducted to provide admission into law courses at graduate and post graduate level. Consortium of National Law Universities (CNLU) conducts the exam.

The law courses are offered by 22 national law universities around the country. This national level law admission test is conducted once every year and CLAT 2025 Exam is meant for 2025.

The eligibility criteria for CLAT 2024 registration depends on the type of the course candidate is trying to gain admission into. Details in this regard are provided below for the sake of the candidates:

Undergraduate

Candidates willing to apply for undergraduate programmes of law through CLAT 2025 Exam must have passed plus-two from any stream.

Students of plus-two who would be appearing for their qualifying exam also can take up CLAT 2025 exam registration.

However, these candidates have to produce the proof of passing plus-two exam by the time of admission.

Postgraduate

Applicants willing to seek admission into post graduate law courses through CLAT 2025 Exam must be an LL.B degree holder or holder of its equivalent examination with a minimum of 50 percent pass marks.

Even candidates appearing for their qualifying examination also can apply. However they have to produce the proof of their passing the qualifying exam at the time of admission.

Point to remember

Candidates taking up CLAT 2025 registration must pass their qualifying exam with certain percentage of marks.

The pass percentage in qualifying exam is 45 percent for general category applicants for undergraduate law programmes.

The same for SC/ST category candidates is 40 percent if applying for undergraduate course.

Those aiming for PG courses in law must pass their qualifying exam with 50% pass marks if they are from General/OBC/PWD/NRI/PIO/OCI categories.

The same is 45% in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST categories. Candidates taking up CLAT 2025 Exam registration must ensure they have the required pass percentage in their qualifying exam.

How to submit CLAT 2025 Exam Application?

The procedure to take up CLAT 2022 registration is online. Applicants can visit the official website at ‘https://consortiumofnlus.ac.in/’ to apply for the exam.

1. The URL mentioned above must be typed into the browser and submitted to allow the website to download.

2. Once the website is ready, candidates can read the information about the exam and then click the button CLAT 2025

3. Clicking the above button will open another webpage with URL

4. When the webpage with another URL opens, candidates can register and obtain an account with username and password.

5. Soon after the account is created, candidates can log in and start filling out the application form for CLAT 2025 Exam.

CLAT 2025 Exam Registration Fee

The CLAT 2025 Exam registration fee is Rs 4000 for General/OBC/PWD/NRI/PIO/OCI candidates. The same for SC/ST category candidates is Rs 3,500.

The registration fee for applying for graduate and post graduate courses through CLAT 2025 Exam is the same.

The candidates themselves will have to bear the bank transaction charges for remitting the fee online.

The actual bank transaction charges will be displayed in the payment gateway page after you choose the mode of payment.

Documents

Candidates have to upload the below mentioned documents while submitting CLAT 2025 Exam Application:

# Candidates have to upload a passport size recent photograph of themselves with a plain background along with the CLAT 2025 Exam Application.

# Signature of the candidate

# Category certificate if applying under SC/ST/OBC

# Relevant certificate issued by competent authority if you are applying if candidate is P.W.D

# Relevant certificate issued by competent authority if the candidate is coming under BPL category

CLAT 2025 ExamExam Pattern

The pattern of exam is different for graduate and postgraduate admissions.

Graduate exam

The duration of CLAT 2025 for graduate admission is of two hours duration and has 120 questions. Each question has one mark. A wrong answer will lead to deduction of 0.25 mark.

The subjects are English Language, Current Affairs, including General Knowledge, Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning and Quantitative Techniques. There is negative marking, 0.25 Mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.

Post Graduate exam

The duration of CLAT 2025 exam for post graduate course admission is for two hours and will have 120 questions.

Each question in CLAT 2025 exam will be of one mark. A wrong answer will lead to deduction of 0.25 mark each.

Questions will be from subjects – Constitutional law, Jurisprudence, Administrative Law, Law of Contract, Torts, Family Law.

Questions will also be asked from Criminal Law, Property Law, Company Law, Public International Law, Tax Law, Environmental Law and Labour & Industrial Law. There is negative marking, 0.25 Mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
