AICTE Scholarship 2021: Registration Dates

What is AICTE 

AICTE is a a national-level council for technical education in India. It is a statutory body under the Department of Higher Education. AICTE stands for All India Council for Technical Education. This education body was set up before the Indian Independence in 1945. 

They were established as a national-level Apex Advisory Body. This body was established to make technical education more feasible in India. AICTE’s work was to conduct survey on the facilities available for technical education. The aim was to also engage them in promoting development in India with an integrated approach.

In short, AICTE was aimed to take the technical education forward in the country. This body ensures that the quality of technical education in the country is only at rising. The technical colleges of India that are approved by AICTE are the ones that are giving quality technical education to their students. 

But, there are institutes like IIT which have received the status of ‘Institutes of National Importance’ by MHRD, they do need the AICTE approval. 

AICTE Role 

AICTE was set up with a very strong belief. The technical education in India is supposed to be a major contributor in overall education sector of the country. It plays an important role in the nation’s social and economic development. 

Hence, AICTE’s objectives are to promote quality in the technical education in country, maintain and regulate the norms and standards, and make sure that there is co-ordinated development in the technical education in India. 

Their mission is to be a true facilitator and an objective regulator. 

AICTE Scholarship 

AICTE also offers scholarships to the students who have financial issues. The aim of this scholarship is to make sure that every student who wants to pursue technical education can be free of financial constraints and focus on their higher education. This is for meritorious and deserving students. 

There are 5 different scholarships given by AICTE and they are:

1. AICTE National Doctoral Fellowship Scheme 
2. AICTE Saksham Scholarship Scheme 
3. AICTE Pragati Scholarship for Girls 
4. AICTE PG (GATE/GPAT) Scholarship
5. Prime Minister Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS), J&K 

All of these scholarships have different eligibility criteria. Full information about the eligibility criteria for all the scholarships and the process to apply for those is on the official website of AICTE. 

AICTE Scholarships 2021- 22 Dates 

The last date to apply for the AICTE scholarship 2021- 22 has been rolled out on their website. The last day to apply for the scholarship is November 30. All the candidates who are eligible for the scholarship can apply through the official website of National Scholarship Portal before Nov 30. 

The scholarships whose application deadline is Nov 30, 2021 are AICTE Pragati Scholarship for Girl Students(technical degree and diploma) AICTE Saksham Scholarship for specially-abled students (technical degree and diploma), and AICTE SWATH Scholarship for technical degree and diploma.

For the AICTE PG scholarships, the candidates will have to apply on the official website of AICTE itself. The PG scholarships are for GATE, GPAT and CEED qualified students admitted to AICTE-approved regular postgraduate programmes. The selected candidates will receive Rs 2,400 for 2 years for the whole duration of the course. 

Eligibility for AICTE Scholarship 2021 for the above said scholarships 

AICTE Pragati Scholarship 

• Rs 50,000 per annum would be given to the students for the duration of study

• Rs 50,000 per annum would be given to the students for the duration of study
