The final decision is to be made on June 1 after analysing the existing situation more deeply and taking into account many other factors.

Sources say, a plea was filed in Supreme Court seeking cancellation of 12th class board exams.

The matter came for hearing before Justice A.M. Khanwilkar and Justice Dinesh Maheshwari. The plea was adjourned for Monday (May 31).

It is interesting to note that students and parents are also demanding either postponement or cancellation of 12th class exams of CBSE for 2021.

Good deal of them have taken to even social media platforms stressing the need for either cancellation or postponement of 12th class exams of CBSE.

Not all students are entertaining the idea of postponing 12th class exams of CBSE. Their view is that an alternative should be worked out instead of considering postponement of exams.

This point has many takers. R. Srinivasa Raghavan, a class 12 teacher says the decision has to be taken quickly so as to enable 12th class students to move to next phase of education.

There is no dearth of students who want the exam date to be extended.

There are students on the other hand who want the 12th class exams of CBSE to be conducted.

Sources say, a survey conducted recently found that about 75 percent students were favouring exam date extension. About 7 percent of students were saying that the exam should be conducted.

The students from the urban areas favoured online exams or internal assessment.

Their counterparts from the rural belt felt exams could be conducted late but in a conventional manner.

People who are on the positive side say 12th class exams of CBSE can be conducted this year much like how other exams were conducted in 2020.
