The Financial Times (FT) Global MBA Ranking 2024 now puts the Indian School of Business (ISB) and the well-known Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) at the top. This is a really big deal. This is a big moment in India’s history of business education. ISB has become the best business school in India and ranks an impressive 31st in the world. IIMs have also made big strides forward.
ISB’s research skills have won it international praise, which has put it at the top of India’s rankings and up to 52nd place in the world, a big jump from 61st place before. It shows that ISB is committed to doing excellent research that not only adds to what is known in academia but also changes policies and procedures in the real world.
IIMs have also left a long mark on the world stage. It is placed second in India and a great 41st in the world for the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA). With this award, IIMA shows that it still cares about academic honesty and high-quality study.
According to the FT, ISB had the world’s best salary growth rate, with a 130% rise in pay. Students in the ISB Post Graduate Programme (PGP) got paid 229% more than they did before. This shows how well the school gives its grads the job-ready skills and information they need.
In addition, IIMs did really well when it came to pay growth, which made India a bigger player in the global MBA scene.
ISB was praised for how hard it works to build a strong network of grads and provide great job services. It got the top spot in India for its Alumni Network and the eighth and nineteenth spots in the world for its Career Services. These facts show that the school cares about all of its graduates and makes sure they are taken care of throughout their jobs.
IIMs have made a big difference in India’s business world and helped make many great leaders. They do this by having large networks of graduates and dedicated job services.
Deputy Dean of Academic Programmes at ISB, Ramabhadran Thirumalai, said, “The fact that ISB is consistently ranked as the best business school in India in the FT Global MBA Ranking shows how committed the school is to academic rigour, quality research, and the best support and success for its alumni.” At least this shows that ISB is still dedicated to giving its kids an exceptional education on par with the best in the world.
The Indian MBA setting is not the same as the Western one. This is important to keep in mind, even though ISB and IIMs’ performance in the FT Global MBA Ranking is good. A lot of the schools on the FT list offer full-time MBA courses, which may be different from the more common PGDM programmes offered by well-known IIMs.
Different types of rankings, such as NIRF, Business Today-MDRA, and Outlook B-School Rankings, should be looked at by students to get a full picture of Indian MBA courses. Students should also look at ranks for specific programmes based on their hobbies.
In the FT Global MBA Ranking 2024, ISB and IIMs have risen so fast. This shows that they are the best business schools in the world. Not only world scores should be taken into account when students choose where to go to school. It’s important to think about things like the framework of the course, how much the teachers know, and how important it is to the job market.
