IIM Lucknow was the cynosure of all eyes when it celebrated its 39th Foundation Day on 27 July 2023. The moments were indeed special when the celebrations went ahead in the presence of staff, students and distinguished guests.

The day of the celebration at IIM Lucknow began with tree plantation drive on the campus where the Director, Deans, faculty, staff, and members of the community came together to plant around 1100 trees in the campus premises.

Annual Foundation Day Lecture

The highlight part of the celebration at IIM Lucknow was the annual Foundation Day Lecture and this year, Mr. Amresh Acharya, an Alumnus of IIM Lucknow 1992 Batch, and Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer, Loylty Rewardz Management Pvt. Ltd., graced the occasion as speaker and Chief Guest.

Talking to the audience, Mr Acharya reminisced about his time at the institute and how the institute has evolved keeping pace with the tectonic shifts that have taken place over the decades, and yet, the ethos of rigour and diligence that IIML stands for, has weathered the test of time.

He urged the students, therefore, to work hard, aim high, and have a clear direction for “if you don’t know where you’re going, you might end up someplace else.”

This year was particularly a bright one for the research footprint with faculty publishing 134 papers in high-quality peer-reviewed journals; 3 faculty members from IIM Lucknow were featured in the top 2% researchers list for single-year impact in the world as per a study conducted by Stanford University and published by Elsevier, and IIM Lucknow became the first IIM to introduce a full-time MBA program in Entrepreneurship and Innovation with a focus on developing entrepreneurial competencies in students.”

She further shared that the institute’s flagship Post Graduate Program (PGP) was ranked 64th in the prestigious FT 100’s Global Masters in Management category, and IPMX programme gained its maiden entry in the Global Masters of Business Administration category and featured at 90th rank; a testament to IIM Lucknow’s relentless quest for excellence.

The day came to a close with a grand event in the evening where the employees completing 25 years of service were felicitated and IIM Lucknow community came together for an evening of cultural extravaganza.
