All India Merit List: The Central Board of Secondary Education prepares an All India Merit List of successful candidates of NEET (UG)-2018, based on the eligibility criteria provided by the Medical Council of India and Dental Council of India.
NEET-UG-2018: Admission to MBBS/BDS Degree Courses is solely based on the marks obtained in the National Eligibility-Cum-Entrance Test (NEET-UG-2018).
Minimum Percentile: Candidates must obtain a minimum percentile in NEET-UG-2018 to be eligible for admission. For general category candidates, the minimum percentile is 50%, and for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Caste Arunthathiyar, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes, the minimum percentile is 40%.
Minimum Qualifying Marks: Candidates must have passed the qualifying examination (10+2) with the required subjects and minimum marks. For candidates belonging to specific reserved categories, the minimum marks required may be lower (40%) instead of 50%.
Lowering of Minimum Marks: In case a sufficient number of candidates in specific categories fail to secure the minimum marks prescribed in NEET-UG for admission, the Central Government, in consultation with the Medical Council of India and Dental Council of India, may lower the minimum marks for admission to MBBS/BDS Degree Courses for those respective categories. However, this decision applies only to the particular academic year.
