The SGHR Sahib College for Women, Hoshiarpur, Punjab, has been the pioneer in empowering women with the power of education in the backward and Kandi area of Hoshiarpur since its inception in 2001. The residents of the area awakened by the mayday calls of the depriving educational standards of the area formulated the Shri Guru Har Rai Sahib Society that is the aegis trust of this institution. Under the guidance and unconditional support of Jathedar Sant Baba Nihal Singh Ji, the college was established after valiant and enthusiastic efforts. Education for women, which has long been a talking point in the socially backward regions of India especially Punjab has found a remedy to all its alignments in form of this college. For an educated and illiterate India is it very important that all sectors of the society walk hand in hand, pace to pace, women being the reason for existence of humankind cannot the neglected in this aspect and the mission of this philanthropic institution has been to transfer these saviors of humankind to the mainstream of education. The top notch facilities backed by able a faculty ensures that life is a cake walk at SGHR.
