Scholarships at LPU 

Lovely Professional University strongly believes in the fact that monetary constraints should not be an obstacle for a student to have access to quality education. So, the University extends Scholarship Scheme to students on various parameters. Scholarship can be availed in all the Programmes of the University, ranging from Diploma to Ph.D. Students have been awarded with scholarship worth Rs. 100+ crores in last year only.

Scholarship Categories:

Scholarships are awarded to candidates based on their performance on any of the following categories:

3. On the basis of LPUNEST

Scholarship for a specific Programme depends on Performance in LPUNEST.

There are three brackets:

• LPUNEST score more than or equal to Category I cut-off
• LPUNEST score more than or equal to Category II cut-off
• LPUNEST score more than or equal to Category III cut-off

For All Programmes:

LPU defines different phases of admissions depending on the time an applicant registers himself/herself with the University. The Scholarship as mentioned in above table is for the first phase of admission. Subsequent phase of admission may be defined as per the availability of seats, where the scholarship will be reduced.

• All other conditions as mentioned under the head “Terms and Conditions for LPU-Scholarship and its different phases” in Part B of Prospectus-2022 will also be applicable.

1. On the basis of Performance in LPUNEST (Ph.D.)

The categories of scholarship are based upon performance in LPUNEST (Ph.D.) The cut-off for each category will be announced along with the result of respective schedule. The scholarship details are as per the following table:

Applicant seeking test (LPUNEST (Ph.D.)) exemption on basis of, UGC (NET/ JRF)/ CSIR (NET/ JRF)/ ICAR (JRF/ SRF) examination/ SLET (Punjab only)/ GATE/ GPAT/ ICAR (NET), Teacher Fellowship holder or passed M.Phil. Programme (in Regular mode only) may appear for test LPUNEST (Ph.D.) in order to avail the scholarship as mentioned above.

The result of scholarship for Ph.D. applicants will be declared along with the Ph.D. Interview results.

Note: Scholarship brackets and/or Phases are not applicable for special scholarship and /or fee concession.

Scholarship Brackets:

For each category, there exists three brackets of Scholarship (Bracket 1, 2 and 3) are defined. Each bracket has its own respective criteria that need to be met for availing the applicable scholarship. Therefore, the students meeting the requirement of Bracket- 1 gets the highest Scholarship and those in Bracket - 2 or 3 get a relatively lesser scholarship.

Scholarship Phases:

Admissions in LPU are done in different Phases, which are bifurcations of the Admission time period. The amount of Scholarship also depends on the Phase in which the candidate takes admission in the University. (Phase – I) starts as early as January 2022 and continues till the end of April 2022. The subsequent phases (Phase-II, III, IV,V) are conducted only if the seats in the concerned Programme remain vacant. The amount of Scholarship reduces with each passing phase and no scholarship is offered in Phase - V (if conducted).

LPU Admission Eligibility Criteria 2020

BE / B.Tech: Student must have passed their class 10+2 examinations minimum aggregate of 60% marks in Physics and Mathematics/Chemistry as main subjects from a recognized board.

B.Arch: Candidate must have passed 10+2 / HSC / ICSE or equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry with a minimum  60% aggregate marks (in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry) and a valid NATA score.

B.Com: Student must have Passed HSC (10+2) from any state board or CBSE.

BBA: Students must have passed 10+2 examinations in any subject.

B.Sc.: Student must have passed his/her class 10+2 examinations with relevant subject from a recognized board.

MBA: Candidates must have completed his/her graduation in any field from a recognized university. LPUNEST or CAT or XAT or MAT or CMAT or NMAT and Interview.

M.Sc: Candidates must have completed his/her graduation in any field from a recognized university

M.Tech: Student need to have a graduate degree in BE or B. Tech with 55% marks from a recognized university 

B.Com. Students must have completed 10+2 examinations from the recognized board.

LPUNEST

LPUNEST (Lovely Professional University National Eligibility and Scholarship Test) is a twice-year university level examination for admission to different courses such as engineering, law, agriculture, architecture, hotel management and MBA. This exam is also viewed as a scholarship examination, in addition to admission. The university will offer a scholarship of up to Rs 5 lakhs, based on the candidate's performance in the exam.

• Due to the rise in the daily cases of COVID-19 in different parts of the country, many state governments have put various restrictions to curb the spread of the virus. Considering the scenario of restricted movement and keeping the focus on the safety of the candidates, LPU extends the option of Online Remotely Proctored LPUNEST exam from home for above mentioned Schedules.
• The remotely proctored exam will be monitored live through various Artificial Intelligence tools and by the invigilators.
• There will be no option of test centre based exam in above mentioned Schedules.
• Term I/ Semester I Scholarship is only applicable for the applicants of above mentioned Schedules i.e. who takes admission in January and March Schedule.
• As a Special gesture by the university, Refund Policy will also be relaxed for the applicants of above mentioned Schedule.
• Subsequent Rounds after Round-I (as mentioned above) will be conducted, only if seats remain vacant.
• Seats falling vacant after the above mentioned rounds will be filled on first come first serve basis, subject to satisfying eligibility criteria as mentioned in Prospectus-2022.
• Applicants are strongly advised not to wait for the last dates as mentioned above and apply as well as book and appear for the exam at the earliest to avoid last month rush.
• This is the tentative schedule; any of the date(s) and other details as mentioned above is subject to change at the discretion of the University.

Application Form

• Application form will be in a format that can be processed by Optical Mark Reader (OMR).
• LPUNEST Kit consists of
• University Information Brochure comprising details of Infrastructure, Global Character, Placements, Academics, Student services, Campus life etc.
• LPUNEST Booklet comprising details of Programmes applicable, Eligibility, Fee and Scholarship, Schedule of Test, Question Paper Pattern, Test Cities etc.
• Application fee once paid will not be refunded.

Application forms can be obtained and submitted using one of the following methods:

Option-I: Online Mode Visit admissions.lpu.in and complete the following steps:

Step 1: Sign Up  – Register onto LPUADMIT(admission.lpu.in) with basic details (Name, Email ID, Mobile No., State, Gender and Password).

Step 2: Payment for LPUNEST Kit – The cost of LPUNEST Kit needs to be paid by the applicant as per his/ her choice.

Application Fee: 

• Soft copy of LPUNEST Kit is Rs. 1000 (for Boys) and Rs. 500 (for Girls). 
• Printed LPUNEST Kit is Rs. 1500 (for Boys) and Rs. 1000 (for Girls). The payment can be made using Online banking/Credit card/debit card / UPI.

Step 3: General Information and Qualification details – The application form details like Aadhar card number, address details and qualification details need to be filled by the applicant.

Step 4: Exam Information – Applicant needs to book the slot (preferred venue (if applicable), date and time as per their choice) to appear in the LPUNEST Exam. Applicant can also download the hall ticket from the portal.

Option-II: Offline Mode LPUNEST Kit may be obtained by the applicant from the University Campus or any other prescribed place by paying cash. 

• Cost of Application form of LPUNEST Kit is Rs. 1000 (for Boys) and Rs. 500 (for Girls). 
  Once the applicant has obtained the LPUNEST Kit, application form can be submitted by one of the following methods:
  1. Manual Application:Fill the full application form (OMR sheet) after reading all the instructions as specified under the head “Instructions for filling Application Form (OMR sheet)” and send it to the university in the self-addressed envelope on the following Address: Block 30, Room No 102, Lovely Professional University, Jalandhar Delhi, GT Road, Phagwara, Punjab, India – 144411

Note: Incomplete application (For example: Declaration not signed) will not be processed. LPU does not take responsibility to inform these applicants. Such applicants will not be able to access the LPU Admit. Applicants are hence advised to duly fill the application form and dispatch it along with complete requisite documents in all respects.

2. Semi-Offline Application:In case applicant is unable to send the hard copy of application form (OMR Sheet), then applicant may scratch the Unique OMR code available on application form (OMR Sheet) and follow the below mentioned steps:
   1. Sign up on LPU ADMIT portal (admission.lpu.in)
   2. When prompted for payment, choose the option of Unique OMR Code (given on OMR Sheet)and fill the same. 
   3. After successful submission of online application form, refer the step- 3 of Online Mode option as mentioned above

Note: Printout of the computer-generated application should be retained by the applicant for reference. All our correspondence including test centre booking and Hall Ticket details will be through email only. Therefore, the applicants are requested to get ready with valid email id and mobile number for contact. No separate communication will be done for the same.

How to Apply for Admission in LPU

LPU offers admission in around 200 courses in 40 disciplines and eligibility and selection criteria can vary from course to course. Students willing to get admission in LPU (Lovely Professional University) need to follow the complete admission process as directed by the university. The University conducts its own entrance exam for admission in technical courses. Candidates can submit the application form both online and offline. LPU conducts the entrance exam LPUNEST for some courses. Check the steps involved while applying for LPUNEST.

Details for Mess Plan for Academic session 2022-23

Early Decision Benefit on mess charges upto INR 5000 would be given to the students, if applicant avail the mess facility on or before 30th April 2022.

• Mess Plan will be provided till the end of the regular academic session including regular exams or 10 months from the start of session, whichever is earlier. Students can avail the mess plan two days prior to start of academic session and will be required to leave it within two days after regular exams. For availing Mess Plan after the end of academic session for any purpose like summer school/ reappear examination/ make up examination/ PEP/ EEP classes etc., additional proportionate Charges for mess and its administration will have to be paid by the student, subject to the availability and permission for mess plan.
• Customized plan (e.g. for full calendar year) may be provided on request.
• Students have an option to avail Mess Plan from the University or may manage on their own. Mess Plan may be offered in 2 different categories i.e. Standard Mess and Ala Carte.
• Standard plan includes option of North Indian/ South Indian/ Rajasthani/ Haryanvi/ Gujarati/ Eastern/ North-Eastern Cuisines. North Indian and South Indian cuisines can be opted in the same hostel mess or at centralised locations. Regional cuisine is available at specific locations only.
• Ala Carte - Choice of Dishes plan includes option to take any available dish from any cuisine. For example in lunch, student may pick a few dishes from available North Indian menu and a few from available South Indian menu and a few from some other cuisine. In dinner, student may opt differently as per his/her choice. This Mess Type will be served at selected locations that may be outside the allotted hostel.

Charges (in ₹) for IN-House Laundry for Academic session 2022-23

• Quality Laundry Services are available in the University Campus. The Laundry Services are provided through the best washing and drying machines using standard chemicals.
• The Laundry facility is optional. The Charges for Laundry and its administration is Rs. 5000 for the academic session
• Generally, the steam press system is used.
• Delivery/ collection is generally done in a bag with the proper identification number of the user at specified place in Residential Compound.
• Each student can get *Upto 70 clothes per month of his/her own clothes (not of his friends/ associates) washed/ironed from the Laundry. If in a specific month student utilizes service of laundry facility for less number of clothes, then the balance will not be carried forward.
