Government Medical College, Nagpur has the reputation of being one of the pioneering medical colleges of Central India. Established in 1947, the college was affiliated to Nagpur University till 1997, but is currently affiliated with Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUJHS), Nashik..It holds the credit for being the country’s first center to possess an Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy School. They lay special emphasis on infectious diseases, lifestyle disorders, child and neonatal health care and nutritional illnesses. It maintains a constant track record of enrolling 200 undergraduate and 84 postgraduate students each year and has 1400 beds for serving people of all sections.
