What is cutoff?
The cutoff marks for the test are the marks that candidates have to score in the test to become eligible for getting a seat in the institution. Students have to score marks either equal to set cutoff marks or above it. Cut off marks are decided taking into account factors that are given below:
The number of candidates who appeared in the exam, Number of seats for allotment, Reservation Norms, Previous year Admission trend, Last year cut off and The difficulty level of the exam. Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) will be responsible for the counselling session of JEE Advanced qualified candidates.
