Overview
The Symbiosis National Aptitude Test (SNAP) is the common, mandatory entrance test for the MBA programmes of the institutes of Symbiosis International (Deemed University), Pune. SNAP 2026 is for admission in the academic year 2027-28. It is a 60-minute computer-based test held at test centres on three dates, 13, 19 and 26 December 2026. You can take up to three tests, and the highest score counts. The test covers 17 Symbiosis institutes and 32 MBA programmes. Symbiosis says SNAP is only the first step: each institute runs its own shortlisting, group exercise and personal interaction after the result.

Eligibility Criteria
For most Symbiosis MBA programmes the rule is the same: a graduate from any recognised university or Institution of National Importance, with at least 50% marks or an equivalent grade. The minimum is 45% for candidates from the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. Some programmes add conditions, listed below. The SNAP pages state no age limit.

- A degree from a foreign university needs an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
- SNAP's bulletin states a final-year rule only for the SIOM dual degree. It says all admissions are provisional until fees are paid on time and the eligibility of the programme is met.
- Check the programme's eligibility before you pay. SIU says fees paid for a programme you are not eligible for are not refunded or transferred.
- Foreign nationals, OCI and PIO candidates are exempt from SNAP and apply through the Symbiosis Centre for International Education (SCIE), with an English proficiency test. An NRI candidate can apply through SCIE without SNAP.

Exam Pattern
SNAP 2026 is a computer-based objective test of 60 questions in 60 minutes. Every question has four options and carries 1 mark. Each wrong answer costs 25% of the marks for that question, which is 0.25 marks. You can attempt the sections in any order, and the bulletin lists no sectional time limit.

Ethics, Morality and Values is new for SNAP 2026. The section split also differs from the one SNAP used before: General English now has 10 questions and Analytical and Logical Reasoning 20.
- Tests: you can take up to three tests. If you take more than one, the highest score is used for your percentile. SIU says it designs the papers so that no test gives an advantage, and says there will be no normalisation of scores.
- Unanswered questions: the bulletin describes no penalty for them.
- Persons with Disabilities get 20 minutes of extra time for every 60 minutes. SIU does not provide a scribe, and you arrange your own with approval from info@snaptest.org.
- Take your admit card, with a recent colour photograph (not older than six months) pasted on it, and one original photo ID: passport, driving licence, voter ID, PAN card, Aadhaar card or college ID. A soft copy is not accepted.
- Mobile phones, calculators, watch calculators, smartwatches, fitness bands and similar devices are not allowed in the test hall. You cannot leave before the test ends or enter after the gates close.
- SIU can change the schedule or the structure of the test, and can hold the tests online, offline or in both modes.
SNAP 2026 is held in 79 cities. Test date and city are allotted first come, first served, and you cannot change them after paying the SNAP fee. SIU can allot a nearby city if yours is full.

Syllabus
SNAP does not publish a topic-wise syllabus. The bulletin and the SNAP site name four sections:
- General English: 10 questions.
- Analytical and Logical Reasoning: 20 questions.
- Quantitative, Data Interpretation and Data Sufficiency: 20 questions.
- Ethics, Morality and Values: 10 questions. SNAP's own article says no detailed chapter-wise syllabus is listed for this section.

How to Apply for SNAP 2026
You register and pay for SNAP and for each programme on the same portal, snaptest.org. Registration for SNAP 2026 closes on 25 November 2026. SNAP does not state the day registration opened.
- Register online at snaptest.org and accept the terms and conditions. Fill in your details correctly and upload a recent colour passport-size photograph, not older than six months. SNAP allows no changes after you register.
- Enter the OTP sent to your mobile number and email. You then get your SNAP ID and password by email and SMS.
- Pay the SNAP fee of Rs 2,550 for each test you choose, plus taxes, by 25 November 2026. You can pay through the BillDesk or Easebuzz gateway, or by demand draft in favour of "Symbiosis Test Secretariat", payable at Pune. A demand draft must reach the Secretariat by 3:00 pm on 25 November 2026.
- Register for each MBA programme you want and pay Rs 1,000 for each, plus taxes. You can pay a programme fee after the SNAP deadline, but only until that programme's own closing date, which each institute sets. Paying only the SNAP fee does not make you eligible for shortlisting.
- If you are a PwD, SC, ST or Kashmiri Migrant or Kashmiri Pandit candidate, upload your documents when you register.
- Download your admit card from snaptest.org on the dates given in the timeline, and take it to the test centre with an original photo ID.
- If you have a query, log in with your SNAP ID, click "Raise A Query" and generate a ticket. SIU says this is essential to get a reply.

How Symbiosis Selects Candidates After SNAP 2026
SNAP 2026 only qualifies you for the next stage. Each Symbiosis institute shortlists, tests and selects for each programme on its own.
- SNAP shortlisting: an institute shortlists you for a programme on your overall SNAP percentile. The cut-off is worked out separately for each programme, so you can be shortlisted for more than one.
- GE-PI: the Group Exercise and the Personal Interaction. You attend them separately for every programme you are shortlisted for. You must attend every component to be considered. If you miss any one component, SIU treats you as ineligible for all of its MBA programmes.
- Merit list: institutes publish category-wise cut-offs for the merit list and the wait list on their websites. Wait list movement depends on the seats that fall vacant.
- Admission: all admissions are provisional. They are confirmed when you pay the fee by the due date and meet the programme's eligibility.

The bulletin names the stage GE-PI and lists no written test. Institutes publish their own GE-PI instructions, so check each one. SNAP does not publish a cut-off percentile for any institute; each institute shows its own. A candidate from a reserved category must still meet a certain minimum level of performance in SNAP to be considered.

Symbiosis Institutes That Accept SNAP 2026
SNAP 2026 is mandatory for these MBA programmes, as the SNAP 2026 Bulletin lists them. Programmes of other Symbiosis institutes, such as the LL.M., M.Sc. and M.Tech programmes, do not need SNAP.

Reservation Policy and Special Categories at Symbiosis
SIU applies one reservation policy to the programmes of its institutes, and SIMS has a separate policy. SIU says the percentages and categories can change from time to time.

- If you fit more than one category, you must choose one when you register. You cannot claim another category later.
- SC, ST, PwD and Kashmiri migrant candidates must submit documents from a competent authority. Caste certificates issued only for state government benefits are not accepted.
- A PwD candidate uploads a disability certificate and a Unique Disability ID card at registration.
- Nagpur domicile means residence in Nagpur urban for five years and either a degree from Nagpur University or Class 10 and 12 certificates from the Maharashtra Board, CISCE or CBSE.
