National Institute of Design Design Aptitude Test 2022 NID DAT 2022 is also known as National Institute of Design Design Aptituted Test (NID DAT) and comprises two parts - NID DAT prelims and NID DAT Mains.
Candidates who pass these exams will get to study BDes or MDes courses in National Institute of Design (NID) which are located in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Haryana, Gandhinagar, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Bengaluru and Assam.
This is a national level exam that is conducted once a year and students who wish to study courses related to Design either at graduate level or postgraduate level - BDes or MDes - Bachelors in Design or Masters in Design. The notification of this exam is released at the appropriate time every year and soon after the release, candidates can submit applications online once the notification of the exam is released.
Application submission for NID DAT 2022 started from October 05, 2021 and went on till December 6, 2021 and the exam was conducted on January 02, 2022. The registration for 2022 is over and students wishing to submit applications can do it at the next appropriate time. The procedure to submit applications is online and candidates have to visit the official website and click the appropriate link for registration.
Post clicking the link for registration, candidates have to fill details like their name, date of birth, qualification, email, mobile number and create an account comprising username and password. Post account creation, candidates can login using the credentials (username and password) created during registration and start filling the application form. Post filling the application from, candidate has to upload required documents and pay the registration fee.
The registration fee has to be paid and confirmation for that has to be obtained. After the confirmation for fee payment is obtained, candidates can check the application form for any errors in the details provided and then submit the form finally and obtain confirmation. Post obtaining confirmation, candidates can download the application and take a printout of it. Post application submission, the candidates have to appear for a written test.
The schedule for the written test will be intimated to the candidates at the appropriate time on the official website of the exam. Candidates can also receive the schedule of the exam even on their respective emails. The hall ticket has to be downloaded from the official website of the exam at the appropriate time.
The test will be divided into two parts - NID DAT Prelims which will be conducted offline and duration to anwer questions related to Knowledge, Comprehension, Analysis, Creativity, Visualisation is 2 hours 30 minutes.
Students who pass NID DAT prelims with required qualifying marks will become eligible for taking part in NID DAT Mains which will have two parts, studio test and interview. Studio test will comprise questions and tasks related to creativity and innovation, students have to submit their creative works which will likely be surrounding around a topic allotted. Candidates will also have to attend interview round.
Time frame for NID DAT Mains is usually 3 hours, however, the duration can increase or reduce depending upon the situation.
Students who have attended the exam can wait for the results. Post release of results, candidates can compare their score in the exam with the cutoff marks which are the minimum qualifying marks to be obtained by the candidates to become eligible for the next phase of admission process or final selection for the seat in the educational institution.

If the score of the candidate in the exam is either greater than the cutoff or equal to it, they can apply for taking part in the counselling process.
