Students must qualify NID DAT Prelims and then take part in NID DAT Mains and pass it with required qualifying marks. Candidates who pass NID DAT Mains with required qualifying marks will be eligibile to take part in the counselling round. The counselling will be usually conducted in offline mode, however, if the situation demands, counselling can also be conducted offline.
The schedule related to counselling will be informed by the authorities concerned on the official website of the exam. The information regarding the schedule also could be sent to emails of the candidates who are considered eligible to take part in the counselling. Candidates have to register for taking part in the counselling. The registration process can be taken up either online or offline, depending on the options provided.
Forms have to be filled as a part of registration which will have details like name of the candidates, respective qualification, marks in the entrance test, marks in the qualifying exam, permanent and temporary address. These details have to be provided in the form and submitted as a part of registration.
Post registration, candidates can choose college and course they wish to study which is also known as choice filling. Choice filling can sometimes be done as a part of intitial registration also.
The choices submitted by candidates have to be confirmed by them. Post confirmation, the choices made by candidates will be analysed and seats will be allotted based on their availability, existing demand, performance of students in the written exam and qualifying exam.
Students who get the seat can convey their acceptance and pay the fees. Counselling process will likely be conducted in more than one round, students who dont get seat in first round can try in subsequent rounds.
