The eligibility criteria for NEET UG is a pass in plus-two from a recognised educational institution located anywhere in India. The age limit for the applicants must be 17 at the minimum. The applicants must be citizens of India and can be the residents of any one of the states or union territories in India. More information is provided below in a tabular format for the sake of the students:

Students have to pass plus-two from the recognized educational institutions in science stream with biology (botany, zoology), physics and chemistry as subjects. Students who have appeared for their final exams of plus-two and are waiting for results or candidates who are about to appear for the exams can also apply. However, these people have to pass the exam and provide a proof for it by the time they apply for counselling. |
Applicants must be citizens of India. They can be residing in any state or union territory of India. Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) or Overseas Indian Citizens (OIC) can also apply. More information can be obtained in this regard from the exam prospectus which would be released at the time of commencement of registration. |
The exam will be conducted offline and students have to mark their answers on a separate answersheet provided at the test centre. The questions in the exam will be related to 11th and 12th standard biology, physics and chemistry lessons. The format of questions will be multiple choice where each question will have more than one reply and the right one among that has to be chosen to score marks.
Duration to answer the questions is 3 Hours 20 Minutes or 200 minutes. Every rightly answered question gets 4 marks and wrongly answered questions will lose 1 mark. There will total of 200 questions and marks in total are 720. Each subject will have two sections, and total sections would be eight.
