Eligibility for NATA 2023

The applicants for NATA 2023 have to pass plus-two examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Even candidates who have passed 10+ 3 Diploma with Mathematics as subject of study can appear for NATA 2023.

Candidates appearing for 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as subjects of study or 10+3 Diploma with Mathematics in the current year may also provisionally appear for NATA 2023. However, they have to provide required documents at the time of the admission that they have passed the qualifying exam.

Exam pattern of NATA 2023

Candidates have to know the exam pattern for NATA 2023 if they are to prepare a sound study schedule. The knowledge of the exam pattern will provide students with lot of information like duration of the exam, no. of questions, types of questions, distribution of marks in each section, total no. of marks, duration to be allotted for every question. All these would help form a very good study plan. 

Students aiming for NATA must also remember that the exam pattern can also be changed due to various reasons. They can regularly follow the official website for the exam and also well-known news websites and newspapers to have the exact information.

NATA 2023 is an exam of three hour duration and total number of questions in it would be 125. The questions will carry either 1 mark,2 marks or 3 marks. The medium of Aptitude test will be the English language. The aptitude test will comprise of questions that could be of the Multiple-Choice type (MCQ), Multiple Select type (MSQ), Preferential Choice type (PCQ) and Numerical Answer type (NAQ) and Match the following type (MFQ). The total number of marks is 200. The format is being provided below in tabular mode for the sake of the students:

The aptitude of the candidate will be assessed using some or all of the following techniques:

  • Diagrammatic Reasoning – Tests the ability of logical reasoning, using diagrams and scenarios
  • Numerical Reasoning – Tests mathematical ability through simple problems
  • Verbal Reasoning – Assesses the ability to assess verbal logic.
  • Inductive Reasoning – Tests the ability to see patterns and analyse given data
  • Situational Judgment – Tests problem-solving ability.
  • Logical Reasoning – Tests ability to recognise patterns, sequences or relationships between shapes and imagery.
  • Abstract Reasoning – Will assess general knowledge, and ability to utilise knowledge in new situations.
