Maharashtra Health Sciences and Technical Common Entrance Test

MHT CET 2022 - The Maharashtra Health and Technical Common Entrance Test (MHT-CET) is a state-level entrance examination conducted by the Government of Maharashtra for admissions into B.Tech., B.Pharm., Ph.D., and other degree courses of different colleges in Maharashtra.

The State Common Entrance Test Cell, mainly Maharashtra has already released MHT-CET notification for 2022. So, for registration, students can visit the official website dtemaharashtra.gov.in. Engineering aspirants, especially those hailing from Maharashtra itself, should be looking forward to this exam.

MHT CET 2022 Application Form 

Students can fill the MHT CET 2022 Application Form through Online Mode. The application can be submitted by the official website of MHT CET. 

MHT CET 2022 Eligibility

Before applying for MHT CET 2022, candidates must check the eligibility criteria set by the Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra. Only those candidates who will satisfy the eligibility criteria will be allowed to appear in MHT CET 2022. Below is the eligibility of MHT CET 2022:

  • The candidate should be a citizen of India.
  • There is no age limit to appear in MHT CET 2022.
  • Candidate must have passed HSC/class XII exam or its equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects with any one of the subjects – Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Technical/Vocational subjects.
  • Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination (HSC/XII) in 2021 are considered eligible.
  • Candidates must have secured a minimum of 50% marks (for General Category) and at least 45% marks (for reserved category and Persons with Disability candidates) in aggregate of 5 subjects.
  • Female candidates are not eligible for a mining engineering course.

The basic eligibility for MHT CET is that candidates must have passed class 12th from a recognized board or equivalent. The separate eligibility conditions for all the courses have been given below:

For Engineering Courses

  • The nationality of candidates should be an Indian.
  • Candidates must have passed class 12th exam or HSC examination with subjects namely, Physics, Chemistry, English and Mathematics/ Biotechnology/ Biology/Technical Vocational subject.
  • Minimum 50% aggregate marks (45% aggregate marks for reserved category candidates) must be obtained.
  • Passed Diploma in Engineering and Technology and obtained at least 50% marks (45% in case of reserved category)
  • Obtained qualifying marks in JEE Main Paper 1 (All India Candidature Candidates, Jammu and Kashmir Migrant Candidature Candidates)

For Pharmacy courses

  • Candidate should be an Indian National.
  • Applicant must have completed class 12th with English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/ Biology /Biotechnology/ Technical Vocational subject. For candidates of the general category, the minimum percentage criterion is 45% and for reserved category, it is 40%.
  • There is no age limit applicable to this course

MHT CET 2022 Application Process

The application form can be filled by visiting the online application portal. Form-filling can be done from the second week of January 2022 till the last week of March 2022.

The process includes these steps:

Step 1: Registration

Always visit the official website of MHT CET and look for the Registration link. Next, click on ‘New user’; and enter details, such as email, phone number, and password.

Step 2: Form Filling

Mainly fill the MHT-CET 2022 Application Form carefully with your personal and academic details, before submitting. Reservation information needs to be filled, along with the other details.

Step 3: Uploading Documents

Upload a passport-sized photograph clicked on a white background; and a scanned copy of your signature.

Step 4: Application Fees Payment

The application fee for MHT-CET 2022 is mainly INR 800 for General category, while candidates of reserved categories need to pay INR 600. The fee can always be paid either online or offline.

Admit Card

The admit card will be available in April 2022. The candidates should read the instructions written on the card, and then download it following the steps given below:

 Always visit the official website of MHT-CET and click on ‘Admit Card’ link.

  • Enter your user ID, password, and then download the admit card.
  • Take a printout of the admit card.

MHT-CET will be conducted in two groups i.e. PCM (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) and PCB (Physics, Chemistry and Biology). The question papers are multiple-choice questions (MCQ) having 4 options and the question and

the marking system is as follows: 

  • The question paper will cover the syllabus of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education.
  • Approximately 20% weight will be given to class 11th curriculum and 80% weight will be given to class 12th curriculum while setting the question paper.
  • Language of Question Paper: The medium for the examination will be English, Urdu, Marathi for Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Mathematics paper will only be available in the English Language. Candidates are instructed to please select the Medium /Language of Question Paper very carefully before applying for MHT CET 2020 examination.

 Marking Scheme

MHT CET 2022 exam consists of 3 sections:

  • Section 1 will comprise of Physics and Chemistry
  • Section 2 will be based on Botany and Zoology
  • Section 3 will include questions related to Mathematics.
