JELET 2022 ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Candidates must ensure that they fulfill WBJELET Eligibility Criteria 2022 before applying for the exam. The eligibility criteria are completely based on factors such as nationality, age limit, domicile requirements, qualifications, and qualifying marks. 

  • Domicile- It is a must for all the Candidates to have a domicile certificate in order to apply for government participating institutes in case they are claiming for reserved category seats.
  • Nationality- Candidate must be a citizen of India.
  • Age Limit- There is no lower age limit as such . There is no upper age limit is 27 years as on December 31, 2020 . However, for the Marine Engineering course, there is an upper age limit of 25 years.
  • Qualification Requirement
    Candidates who have a diploma in engineering/pharmacy/technology and willing to apply for degree courses through JELET must have achieved a minimum of 45% marks from any polytechnic institute/Pharmacy institute recognized by AICTE.
    Candidates holding a B.Sc. degree, willing to seek admissions into Engineering/Technology courses, must have pass B.Sc. degree with a minimum of 45% marks from UGC recognised University. Also, candidates must have passed Class XII with mathematics as a core subject.
  • Minimum Qualifying Marks-
    Candidates must have obtained 45% marks aggregate in the three compulsory subjects.
    For SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B and PwD candidates, this minimum qualifying marks is 40%.
    Candidates must have passed English with at least 30% marks.
    Candidates with non-formal, irregular class mode, non-class room based schooling, open school learning or distance education will not be eligible for admission through WBJELET 2021.

Candidates having a diploma in engineering or technology will face 70 common questions, the rest 30 will be based on their specialization. All 100 marks will consists of questions form  Mathematics for B.Sc students and all 100 marks will be asked from Pharmacy for candidates with diploma in Pharmacy.
