Eligibility criteria for CTET 2022

Educational qualification

Paper 1

Candidates applying for Paper 1 must have any one of the qualifications mentioned below:

  • They must have passed their senior secondary or its equivalent with at least 50% of marks. They must also have passed 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education. Those in the final year of 2 year Diploma in Elementary Education can also apply.
  • The applicants should have at least 45% marks in their senior secondary or equivalent exam. 
  • They can also be in the final year of their 4-year degree course of Bachelor of Elementary Education. However, they must have passed their senior secondary or equivalent with at least 50% marks.
  • Applicants who have passed the senior secondary or equivalent examination with 50% marks and have passed 2-year Diploma course in Education (Special Education) can also apply. Even those in the final year of 2-year Diploma course in Education (Special Education) can also apply.
  • They should be a graduate with at least 50% marks in aggregate and Bachelor of Education.

Paper 2

The applicants for Paper 2 must be having anyone of the below mentioned criteria:

  • The applicants must be a graduate who passed 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education. Even those in the final year of the Diploma can also apply.
  • Those who have passed with at least 50% in graduation and 1-year Bachelors in Education. Even those who are appearing for final year exams in 1 year Bachelors in Education can also apply.
  • The candidates can have 50% marks in their senior secondary or equivalent exam. They should also have passed or must be in the final year of 4-year Bachelors in Elementary Education.
  • Those who also passed or are appearing for the last year of their 4-year B.A/ B.Sc. Ed or B.A. Ed/ B.Sc. Ed can also apply. They should have passed their senior secondary or equivalent with 50%.
  • Those who are graduate with at least 50% marks and who have passed out or are appearing in the 1-year B. Ed (Special Education) can also apply.

Age limit and Nationality

The applicants must be a citizen of India and the minimum age should be 17 years and there is no maximum age limit.

Exam pattern for CTET 2022

The exam has two papers - Paper 1 and Paper 2. The questions in each of the papers will be in multiple choice format and the total number of questions to be answered are 150 and total marks are 150. More details about the pattern is provided below for the sake of the students:
