Overview

The University of Allahabad, informally known as Allahabad University (AU) was established on September 23^rd, 1887. Allahabad University is the fourth oldest university in India after Calcutta, Bombay and Madras University. The University offers several courses in streams like Arts, Science, Commerce, Law, etc. in 11 constituent colleges of the University. Admission to AU will be entirely based on the marks in entrance exams such as PGAT, LFAT, LAT, etc. The University was ranked among top 100 universities in India by National Institutional Ranking Framework (MHRD) in 2017.
