Mahishadal Girl's College was established in the year 1969. It is the only women's college in Purba Medinipur Dist. The college was established by some of local affluent persons like Late Gopal Chandra Mondal Late Dr. Satyendranath Bhuniya, Late Dr. Haridas Sarkar, and many other eminent persons to spread the light of higher education among women. The college is affiliated to Vidyasagar University and was accredited at level B by the NAAC Peer Team in the year 2006. The college offers various courses in the field of Arts, Science in addition it also offers with some UGC sponsored add-on courses. The college provides with experienced and qualified faculty for the students.
