Koneru Lakshmaiah Education Foundation (KLEF) Scholarship Policy

Objective

The scholarship policy at KLEF is designed to support students who exhibit academic excellence, exceptional talents, or financial need. These scholarships aim to make quality education accessible while fostering diversity and inclusivity.

Scope

This policy applies to all students enrolled in undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG), PhD, and post-doctoral fellowship (PDF) programs at KLEF.

Types of Scholarships

1. Need-Based Scholarships

Awarded to students requiring financial assistance, including:

• Students from low-income backgrounds
• Female students
• Students from Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Other Backward Classes (OBC)
• Differently-abled students

2. Merit-Based Scholarships

Given to students demonstrating outstanding academic performance through:

• High CGPA
• Exceptional entrance exam scores

3. Talent-Based Scholarships

For students showcasing excellence in areas such as:

• Sports
• Fine arts
• Music
• Dance

4. Special Scholarships

• Sibling Scholarships: For students with a sibling studying at KLEF.
• Single Girl Child & Alumni Wards: For single girl children and children of KLEF alumni.
• Wards of KLEF Employees: Scholarships for children of in-service KLEF faculty or staff.
• Children of Armed Forces Personnel: For wards of ex-servicemen.

   • Based on IPE CGPA, EAMCET Rank, JEE Mains/Advanced, and other competitive exams
   • Based on KLEF entrance exams (KLEEE, KLECET, KLSAT, etc.)
   • Based on CGPA in KLEF or State Board of Technical Education
   • GATE-based scholarships for M.Tech students

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for a scholarship, a student must:

• Be enrolled full-time in a UG, PG, PhD, or PDF program at KLEF.
• Demonstrate financial need (for need-based scholarships).
• Show academic excellence (for merit-based scholarships).
• Exhibit exceptional talent (for talent-based scholarships).

Application Process

1. Students submit an application with required documents, including academic records and financial/talent proof.
2. The Scholarship Committee evaluates applications based on eligibility and available funds.
3. Selected students receive notification and scholarship awards.

Scholarship Amounts

Scholarship amounts vary based on available funds and the number of eligible candidates.

Sports Quota Scholarships

The final scholarship amount is determined by a committee appointed by the Registrar.

Scholarship Renewal

Scholarships are renewable for the entire course duration, provided students maintain the required CGPA:

• B.Tech (CSE / AI&DS / BT): 9.0 CGPA
• B.Tech (CE / ME / CS&IT / ECE / EEE / IoT): 8.0 CGPA
• M.Tech: 7.5 CGPA
• Other Programs (B.Com, BBA, BBA-LLB, BA, BCA, B.Sc., B.Pharm, Pharma D, MA, MBA, MCA, M.Sc., M.Pharm): 7.0 CGPA

Merit scholarships are reviewed semester-wise and require students to maintain the required academic standards.

Appeal Process

Students who do not receive a scholarship can appeal to the Vice-Chancellor through the Registrar, with additional supporting documentation if needed.

Publicity & Awareness

The university promotes scholarship opportunities on its website and through official channels to ensure all eligible students are informed.

Review & Confidentiality

• The scholarship program is reviewed annually by the Board of Management (BOM) and the Academic Council.
• All submitted personal and financial information remains confidential.

Note: Students can only avail of one scholarship, and the highest-value scholarship will be awarded in case of multiple eligibilities.

Exam Format:

• All exams are conducted as computer-based tests (CBT).
• Each exam has a specific duration and syllabus related to the program it's for.

Eligibility:

• Generally, a pass in 10+2 or equivalent exam with a minimum percentage (often 60%+) is required.
• Specific subject combinations (PCM for Engineering, PCB for Sciences) might be required for some programs.

Step 2: Choose Your Program and Entrance Exam:

Carefully explore the offered undergraduate programs (B.Tech, B.Sc., B.A., B.Com., BCA, MBA) and identify your desired option. Each program has its own entrance exam (KLEEE, KLSAT, etc.).

Step 3: Register and Apply Online:

Click on "Apply Now" for your chosen program. Register with your basic details and fill out the online application form. Ensure you meet the eligibility criteria (percentage, subjects) mentioned.

Step 4: Upload Required Documents:

Scan and upload the necessary documents like your mark sheets, certificates, ID proofs, and entrance exam admit card (if applicable).

Step 5: Pay the Application Fee:

Pay the application fee of Rs. 1000 online using the available payment options.

Step 6: Appear for the Entrance Exam (if applicable):

Download your admit card from the portal and appear for the KLEEE/KLSAT/respective exam on the scheduled date.

Step 7: Attend Counselling (if shortlisted):

If shortlisted based on your application and entrance exam score, you'll be called for counselling. Here, you'll finalize your program and confirm your seat (might involve paying fees

1. Payment Process:

   • Mess charges, GST, and establishment charges should be paid through DD or online transfer in favor of "HARNIKS INFRA LLP", payable at Vijayawada.
   • Room rent, electricity, registration fee, and caution deposit should be paid through DD or online transfer in favor of "KL UNIVERSITY", payable at Vijayawada.

2. Hostel Application:

   • Available at the Help Desk or can be downloaded from www.kluniversity.in.

3. Electricity Charges:

   • All room types have prepaid electricity meters, and extra charges will be deducted from the electricity deposit.

4. Room Allocation:

   • Rooms are allotted on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to availability.

5. Additional Facilities:

   • Harniks Infra LLP and Harniks Regency provide engineering and management training, technical consultancy, and auxiliary educational services for students at KLEF Deemed to be University.
