About Hindustan College of Arts and Science Chennai

Hindustan College of Arts and Science (HCAS) was established in Kelambakkam, Chennai, in 1995. The institution is part of the Hindustan Group of Institutions, is affiliated with the University of Madras, and has been granted minority status by the Government of India's National Commission for Minority Educational Institutions.

There are over 120 faculty members who have passed the NET/SLET or have a PhD. Among India's arts and sciences colleges, it is ranked 88th. In fields such as science, commerce, humanities, management, and information technology, the Institute offers 17 undergraduate, seven postgraduate, three MPhil, and two Ph.D. programmes.

In 2019, India Today ranked it 71st in terms of BCA. It offers students a variety of cutting-edge amenities such as a hostel, library, leisure, transportation, and eco-friendly herbal and organic garden, ERP, and a healthcare center. It is a multi-cultural institution. It has an International Cell that promotes not only mutual understanding but also cultural appreciation among members.

UG Programmes

A candidate who has successfully qualified in the following examinations.

The Government of Tamil Nadu Higher Secondary Board Examinations.
All India Senior School Certificate Examination (AISSCE) / Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
Indian School Certificate Examination (ISCE), New Delhi.

PG Programmes

A candidate who has obtained a UG/PG Degree from the University of Madras.

Research

A candidate who has successfully completed a PG degree in the relevant subject.

Eligibility Certificate from the University of Madras required for the following categories of students:

Candidates, who have passed the following examinations, must obtain an Eligibility Certificate from the University of Madras.

Private Candidates under Open Schooling System.

Higher Secondary or Equivalent Examinations conducted by all State Boards other than Tamil Nadu State Board.

All degree (UG/PG) examinations conducted by Universities other than University of Madras.

Candidates who have passed the course of study from Board / University that are not listed in the COBSE / UGC / World List of Universities will not be approved for the admission in UG / PG / M. Phil. courses of this University.
Candidates who have passed under 10+1 are Not Eligible for admission to Three Year Under Graduate Degree Course.
Candidates who have passed the degree course under 10+1+3 or 10+2+2 or 11+1+2 are Not Eligible for admission to Post Graduate Degree Course.
