The college believes inr ewarding the meritorious and the deserving students. For this, they have come up with innovative and extremely helpful scholarship ideas. The scholarship scheme of the college includes higher educational national merit scholarships in tuition fee for the B.E and for the B.Tech students.

In this scholarship, 100% scholarship or 100% waiver in the tuition fee will be given to the students who are basically the 10+2 topper from each State/Union Territory(applicable only for 1st year). Scholarship worth ₹5 crores (approx.) has been bestowed through AV Higher Education Scholarship Scheme in the past five years. More than 3000 students have benefitted through this scheme.

Along with the meritorious students, the college believes that the students who are not privileged and are financially backward, they must get the chance to study in better colleges as well. Eligibility Criteria for Undergraduate (UG) Programs

1. General Requirement: A pass in Higher Secondary (H.Sc.) with mandatory subjects based on the course (Physics, Chemistry, Maths, etc.).

2. Minimum Marks: Candidates should have obtained at least 45% marks (40% for reserved category candidates) in the relevant subjects taken together.

Program-Specific Eligibility:

• B.E. Bio Medical Engineering: Physics, Chemistry, and any one of Biology/Biotechnology/Maths.
• B.Tech. Biotechnology: Physics, Chemistry, and any one of Biology/Biotechnology/Maths.
• B.E. Computer Science & Engineering: Physics, Maths, and one from a list of optional subjects such as Chemistry/Computer Science/Biology/Information Technology.
• B.E. Mechanical Engineering: Physics, Chemistry, and Maths.

Eligibility Criteria for Postgraduate (PG) Programs

1. General Requirement: A Bachelor's degree in the relevant field with at least 50% marks (45% for reserved category candidates) in the qualifying exam.

Program-Specific Eligibility:

• M.E. Computer Science and Engineering: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science & Engineering, Information Technology, or related fields like Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
• M.E. Construction Engineering and Management: A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• M.Tech Biotechnology: A Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or related disciplines such as Agricultural Biotechnology or Industrial Biotechnology.

Admission at AVIT

Different Choices for Admissions

1. VMRF Smart 2025 - 2026

VMRF stands for Vinayaka Mission's Research Foundation Students' Merit Assessment and Ranking Test (for Engineering). This is a scholarship that is granted to the meritorious and deserving candidates to empower the future generation with high quality education. 

2. The SMART EDGE 

Another scholarship for the students to avail easy admission is the Smart Edge. In this scholarship, the top 25 rank holders will get a waiver of 75% off on the tuition fee. The rank holders from 26 to 100, will get a waiver of 50% in the tuition fee. This is a great way and an amazing opportunity for the students to score good marks and get the tuition fee deduced to almost half.

The minimum eligibility is 60% in qualifying examination for availing this scholarship. The candidates applying for the Undergraduate Engineering courses should have passed 10+2/Intermediate or Equivalent Examination. Candidates appearing for April/May 2022 exams can also apply. The candidates can avail scholarship based on 10+2/Intermediate or Equivalent Examination overall aggregate/VMRF-SMART ranking whichever is higher. 

3. Merit Scholarship 

The candidates who are interested in taking B.E/B/Tech admissions in AVIT Chennai must have completed 10+2 system of Higher Secondary Examination conducted by any State Board, Central Board of higher Secondary Education (CBSE, New Delhi). Or they could have cleared the Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE, New Delhi);.

National Institute of Open Schooling; Intermediate or two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board / University, High School Certificate Examination of the University of Cambridge or equivalent.

Apart from this, the candidates with a Diploma in Engineering / Technology awarded by the State Board of Technical Education, Tamil Nadu or its equivalent are eligible to apply for admission to the third semester of B.E. /B.Tech. in the branch corresponding to the branch of study. Also, the graduates in B.Sc, (10+2+3 stream) are eligible to apply for admission to the third semester of B.Tech.

AVIT Chennai Campus

All of the University's campuses are meant to be environmentally friendly and maintained with huge gardens and recycled water plantations. The university's whole campus is designated as a no-smoking zone. AVIT is located on Rajiv Gandhi Salai (Old Mahabalipuram Road) about 50 kms from Chennai.
